I ordered a skin product on line. The advertisement says: Try it for 30 days, no money down just pay shipping and handling. Well I looked on my bank statement today and I see the shipping charge of $4.95, but also see an additional charge of $189!!!
I call the company and the girl explains because I used my Debt card the company charges your the $189 and holds it for 5-7 business days but goes back into your account. Now this is false advertisement as the company had taken my $189 when the advertisement says: Try it for free for 30 days, no money down just pay shipping and handling.
If I knew they would charge me this amount I would have just used a plain credit card, but I checked the credit card box because my check debt card is also a VISA card.
I think it is awful for a company to make this statement and not put a full disclosure with an asterisk with the disclaimer that $189 will be taken out of the account and put on hold for 5-7 business days. If I was fully aware I would have not used this particular card. This is a Rip-Off and the advertisement should
The trial term says nothing about charging up front the $189. Its only after 30days that your card is charged.
They company says it's not charged and just on hold, but the $189 has been deleted from my checking account and hopefully will be back in my account. The website itself says: In a few days the $189 will return, but the girl I spoke with said 5-7 business days. ADVERTISEMENT SHOULD SAY: Try it for 30 days, no money down just pay shipping and handling HAD HAVE A CLAUSE stated with an asterik saying ** If you chose to pay with your debt card you will be charged an additional $189.
