Worst customer service ever. The installed new rooftop unit denting unit up and breaking the seals on it when placing it. now I have leaks from unit itself as well as water pouring onto roof. They also did not insulate the drop/roof jack so the condensation build up is causing water damage to house. I called them to come fix the initial problem of it cooling one side of house to 60 some degrees and the other side to 80 degrees. they told me it was my problem and if I wanted them to fix the problem that they created I would have to pay more .

Feels like extortion, as they had to know the work was going to cause this issue. Their site says they do energy audits and duct sealing for better efficency yet when I had inspectors come look there were leaks no seals and water damage. The ductwork was thrown in and not properly distributed using drop boxes . They also insisted on a second return which was place within 5 feet or the original the needed a 20x30 opening for this return but when you open and look in the duct is compressed to half that size. They do not have a clue on what they are doing. some of the list is and is from certified inspectors.

ROOFTOP UNIT: AIR LEAKS AROUND ALL PANELS. LIQUID TIGHT AND ELECTRICAL WIRES ARE NOT REPLACED. CONDENSATE LINE IS NOT CLAMPED AND SECURED.

DUCTWORK IN ATTIC: METAL JOINTS (T Y'S) ARE NOT INSULATED CAUSING CONDENSATION. (THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO FLEX DUCT AND POSSIBLY DRY WALL. JOINTS ARE INSTALLED IMPROPER AND POSITIONED SO THAT SOME REGISTERS RECEIVE MUCH MORE AIR THAN OTHERS. DUCT WORK TO KITCHEN/DINING ROOM HAS BEEN IMPROPERLY INSTALLED TO NOTALLOW ENOUGH AIR TO FLOW IN THERE DIRECTION. ALL ATTIC DUCT WORK WILL NEED TO BE DISCONNECTED AND INSTALLED PROPERLY. RETURN AIR VENT SHOULD BE ADDED TO DINING ROOM AREA.

THERMOSTAT: NOT POSITIONED PROPERLY AND HAS A HOLE BEHIND IT CAUSING ATTIC AIR TO ALTER TEMPERATURE READINGS.

stay away unless you want to be treated poorly and end up worse off than before.

Do you think everyone is as dumb as you?

I called Rich this morning to tell him what you were saying about him. He laughed at you and said he had already seen it and then pointed out something: you are a competitor or a angree ex-employee because you cared enough to look up his company, post your idiot comments, and then follow the string. And since you talk to as you say countless people about him you must think of him a lot. You must think the rest of the world is as stupid as you are.

Like he said, your probably helping him more then harming him because everyone who reads this will realize how many idiots there are out there posting fake stuff and hiding behind a computer screen. I personally think you are a spineless liar because if you have something to say to the man say it to his face. And by the way, the award they won was not from Arizona it was out of the whole country, just goes to show how stupid you are. If your a competitor why don't you concentrate on being good at your own company and if you are an ex-employee why dont you become a better tech and you wont become the angree ex-employee. Rich, sorry, I know you said dont bother with this guy but hes a prime example of why a/c techs and companies get a bad rap and I wanted to call him out on it. I'm sure he will have some more idiot comments to make but I will leave it be now. Congrats again on the award, you and Michelle deserve it.

like i said i have known several people that have worked for him and have said this stuff about him. I would not have said these things unless i have heard from countless ex- employees and wholesalers in town.  And as far as the ACCA bogus award. Rich is President of the ACCA so Im sure he kinda staged it and set it up for him to win this useless award.    If people knew the arizona president of ACCA awarded the award for himself here in arizona i am sure they would not be happy.

As a former employee of Magic Touch now working at another HVAC company, I can shed some insight on this job and on the comment made about owner Rich Morgan by someone who apparently never even met the man.
I worked for Magic Touch for years until recently. I hope to one day start my own company and make it as good as Magic Touch is and I do remember this job. This customer was trying not to pay for the job and made a bunch of BS complaints against Magic Touch. The ROC checked out the job and found nothing wrong and dropped the complaints.
As for this guy that says Rich is an arrogant sad man, you should look in the mirror seeing as how you are passing judgement on a man you say you never even met.

I would still work at Magic Touch had I not moved to the other side of the valley. I have all the experience I do today and my NATE certification thanks to this company and Rich is not at all an arrogant man as this guy wrote. I would actually say Rich was one of the best bosses I ever had. And yes there are a lot of companies bigger then Magic Touch but not too many that do the right thing by their customers and employees like them. As for the guy who said Rich thinks his company is number 1, you might want to do your research because hes not the only one who thinks that apparently. Maybe you should read this http://www.achrnews.com/articles/122492-acca-honors-top-contractors

I work as a service tech for a company in town and from what i see here magic touch did nothing wrong but i will say Rich Morgan is a arrogant sad man.  i have known people that have worked for him and they say he thinks he knows everything and that his company is so great.  His company is very small in comparison to the top companies in town.  All the people i know that work at wholesalers in town say they cant stand the guy and say he acts like his company is better than any other which is totally not true.  he is not even in the top 10 companies in town but acts like he is number one.

Inspection Results from Arizona State Inspector

#6REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, September 25, 2012

For public record, attached is the result inspection letter from Arizona's Licensing Bureau, The Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Note the inspectors conclusion; "As the inspector for the complaint, I feel the H.V.A.C equipment the contractor installed is working as it should."

This is quite a difference from this individuals statements.

Nothing has been determined or at least we have not recieved anything from AZROC. Attorney General only investigates on a larger scale not in their domain for this. I just want a livable house back the way it was! not to freeze in one room and be hot in another.

Still not a nice experience...

Truth Be Told

#9REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, September 21, 2012

To any and all readers:

I will start by introducing myself. My name is Rich Morgan and I'm the President of Magic Touch Mechanical, Inc. I am also  the current president of the Arizona Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). I serve on the Air Conditioning Advisory Council for the AZ Better Business Bureau. I also serve on the Board of Directors for The Arizona Electric League, AZ Heat Pump Council and AZ Energy Management Council.

I personally hold two Arizona Contracting licenses, am a BPI Certified Building Analyst, RESNET Home Energy Rater Certification, and a dozen other certificates in HVAC and Energy Services. I have been involved in the HVAC and Energy industry for 26 years, have an Electro-Mechanical Technologies degree from The Refrigeration School, Inc., as well as probably in the neighborhood of 100+ other trade program completion certificates.

I speak nationally at industry events and helped create much of the curriculum and testing used by the Arizona State Department of Education in Electro-Mechanical Technologies.

As for Magic Touch Mechanical, we have currently and for the past 15 years an A+ record with the Better Business Bureau. We have NO, ZERO, ZILCH complaints with the Arizona licensing bureau; The Arizona Registrar of Contractors. We are THE top rated HVAC and Energy Auditing Contractor in the state of Arizona on Kudzu.com. Have an A rating in five categories on Angie's List. Have approximately 500+ combined reviews from our clients dating back many years who rate us 5-stars or A+ depending on the sites rating system.

We've won dozens of customer service awards from Trane, Lennox, Rheem, SRP, APS, and so on. We have won a Business Ethics Award from the BBB, we were awarded The Best Contractor To Work For in the U.S. by the largest trade newspaper in the country...and so on.

Now to the lies at hand:

NONE and I mean not a single word of this report is true...and I can prove it!

This individual filed a lengthy complaint with all of these claims and more with the AZ Registrar of Contractors. That complaint triggered an automatic inspection by a state inspector. His findings; not one single corrective work order was issued and the complaint was closed as "Unmerited". So the STATE INSPECTOR found not one issue with the equipment, the installation, etc.! NOT ONE ITEM IN HIS COMPLAINT WAS FOUND TO BE TRUE. NOT ONE CODE VIOLATION. NOTHING!

The job was also inspected by the equipment manufacturer. Per the equipment manufacturer (I will post the letter on our blog), "The equipment and installation meet and even exceed manufacturer specifications.

The case was investigated by APS (his utility company). Determination, "per Quality Installation Standards, all QI Standards met" - Complaint Closed

This individual filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Based on the findings of The Arizona Registrar of Contractors - Complaint Closed

This individual filed a complaint with the AZ Attorney Generals office. After investigation - Complaint Closed.

The claims this individual make are not even mathematically possible! Example: The design conditions of his system are that the machine can maintain a 75 degree indoor temperature at 108 degree ambient outdoor temperature. The machine could NOT produce a 60 degree temperature on the day he claims it did as it was 106 degrees in Phoenix at 6pm that day. Our test results that day...78 degrees in the room he claimed was 60 an hour earlier...guess what the thermostat was set to, that's correct 78 degrees!

So let me share the truth of why this individual is posting this (hes done so on a dozen other sites as well)....he thought by doing so he could get out of paying for services rendered and equipment delivered and installed as promised. So in essence it's because he's a thief, plain and simple.

Problem for him is, every consumer protection agency and government agency he has filed complaints with have found no merit to his claims after multiple on site inspections and investigations.

See the attached customer survey this individual submitted upon completion of the installation. He gave Magic Touch a PERFECT SCORE in EVERY CATEGORY! When asked in front of the inspector why he would submit a customer survey with a perfect score back to the company he stated, "I must have been tired and not thinking straight"???

Magic Touch is one of the larger, and I can comfortably state one of the most reputable HVAC and Energy Contractors in Arizona. We service and provide installations and energy audits for literally thousands of clients annually. Check us out, read the hundreds of great reviews, see our A+ BBB record, our impeccable record with the Registrar of Contractors (with ZERO complaints) and decide for yourself if there could even be a shred of truth in this individuals work of fiction.

We have the reputation we do for a reason. If there were even one item in his report that were true it would be fixed, apologized for, and then some. But that's not the case. What we have here is an unscrupulous, lying thief who thinks a little keyboard courage and lies would get him free services...he was wrong! Whatever your beliefs, be it a higher power, karma, or just the universe's natural order of things, something will address this! I'm just glad myself and Magic Touch are on the right side of what's coming!

In fact I believe this report is a blessing! Ripoff Report does a great job at Search Engine Optimization and we never had the opportunity to be listed on it before! So after you read this please go check out these other websites, our ROC record, manufacturer consumer ratings, the BBB, etc. Once you see the fantastic reputation we've earned, give Magic Touch a call and support a top-notch local business. We look forward to exceeding your expectations!

Sincerely,
Rich Morgan
