Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After a bad real estate investment in 2008, my wife and I had to file for bankruptcy which severely damaged our credit.  A year later, we both found good jobs despite the sluggish economy and wanted to rebuild our credit.  It was then that I came across Manny Moumdjian of EZ Choice Financial in the Irvine/LA County area. When I first met Manny, he struck me as someone who is very charismatic and genuine.  He talked about his kids in sports, his wife Sally and how they go to church.

I walked into his office and the operation seemed legit enough with a receptionist that is eager to help.  I sat down with Manny and he impressed me with his deep knowledge of the Credit Reporting agencies, the credit reporting process, and passion to help people like me with bad credit.   He showed me a binder with photocopies of letters/results he has gotten for previous clients. One of them included a letter where someone's bankruptcy record had been wiped clean.  With some skeptism, I went ahead and signed up for me and my wife.

Manny's fees are based on the number of negative in your credit. For my wife and I, those fees ended up being around $1,100.00 each.   The first gothcha appeared when we signed our contract.  Legally, Manny can't charge you anything ahead of gettings results for his services so his contract is written as a credit advisory service.  Nothing in his contract will guarantee you any results.  The second gotcha came in the way they structure future payments to be deducted automatically on your credit card.

I looked around his office and figured he's not going anywhere, checked out some reviews on the Internet and came across some recommendations by people in the Real Estate industry. I was sold on the idea this guy would be able to help me and continued on.  Up until the day we signed the contract, Manny's service was impeccable.  I received numerous email detailing what they needed from me, and even got numerous text messages on my phone letting me know everything went through and the process to get our credit back on track is about to begin.

In the first three months, there was a flurry of activities.  I kept getting letters in the mail from the three major credit bureaus and Manny's instructions were to forward them to him IMMEDIATELY (so he can respond right away!).  I was not allowed to buy a car, sign up for credit card, or otherwise do anything  that would get in the way of their repairing my credit. All these instructions, activities, and cautious warnings were just enough to keep me thinking that our credit scores are on their way up, that negative records are starting to dissappear from one payment... I mean one month... to the next.  I had six months to pay $2200.00 for me and my wife.

From the time I signed my contract and the 6th month when I made my last payment, I did not hear any more from Manny.  The only time they called me was to let me know my automatic payment did not go through and I had to give them another credit card to keep the process going.  I called Manny numerous times asking him for a status and he kept telling me the process will take some time because the Credit Bureaus have to do their investigation.

Interestingly enough, the timeframe he gave me when I can expect results exceeds the timeframe that he needed to collect all 6 payments for me and my wife.  Toward the 6th or 7th month of the process, I was getting letters from all three credit bureaus stating they have performed their investigation and most of the negative records in me and my wife's profile will remain.

It has been well over 1 year since I signed up with EZ Choice Financial, and never again did I hear from Manny or gotten any follow up from their office after I signed their contract.  Our credit scores went up by a few points but that is because we signed up for credit cards on our own and made payments on time.  In the end, I realized Manny Moumdjian is nothing but a common crook preying on people in unfortunate circumstances.

My wife and I make good money now so the $2000.00 we wasted isn't going to break us. The only thing I want to do now is to hopefully help other people from becoming victims of people like Manny who profit from other people's circumstances and are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Manny has friends in the Real Estate and Loan Banking community, but don't be fooled.  He is just a common criminal who is out to get your money.

I agree with the previous post.  I encourage others that have had this type of exerience with Manny to come forward, and report him to the BBB as I have done.  Being a member of a union I know there is strength in numbers.  The more reports that are filed against him, th more credible each rport becomes.  As they say where there is some there is fire, right.... Please dont stand for this type of treatment, lets stop him before he hurts anyone else.

I am writing this as a follow up to my posting back in May and Manny's response suggesting this might be a made up story. I choose to stay anonymous because I feel it is pointless to have any direct contact with EZ Choice Financial at this point.  As stated in my original post, the only time I heard from them after signing up for their service is to follow up on the automatic debit they were doing on my credit card.  They never contacted me to give me a status on how things were going even after multiple inquiries and request for status on my part.  It ended up being a waste of time trying to get anything done with them and in the end I chose to cut my losses and move on.

You read Manny's response to my original post, did that seem genuine to you or did it sound like a politician's response after they have been caught in a lie? Answer that question carefully and be honest with yourself.  Sometimes, we refuse to follow our gut instinct because we desperately want someone to be able to help us in our dire situation.  This is how I felt when I signed up with EZ Choice Financial and desperately trying to improve my credit situation (and self worth).  In the end, there was no improvement in my situation and worse, I was out over $2,000.00.

I am glad another victim came forward to report the same experience with Manny Moumdjian. I encourage anyone who got cheated to add to this post.  Let's help prevent other people from becoming victims of EZ Choice Financial and their lies.

Manny will not give you a refund

I have contacted Manny and his office numerous times requesting a refund because my experience was almost identical to the previous post.  When I contacted Manny he refused to give me a refund, because he had a couple of things that did not even belong to me removed, even though my credit score was worse than when we started.  He then suggested that I continue to work wit him, for a fee.  So while he says all you needed to do was ask for your refund and it will be given to you no questions asked, thats a lie.  If Manny refunds my money, I will happily post an appology, and let everyone know that he is an honerable businessman.  Unfortunately at this point I sincerly doubt that will happen.  Merry Christmas, and steer clear of Manny, and the mortgage lender who recomends him. He is a crook.

Manny,

Your sarcasm is disgusting.  I do completely understand what you are saying.  And thank you I know what an adjective is and boy do I have a few to describe you.  Unfortunately I cant use them here. Our only problem is that we followed your advice and attempted to let you repair our credit.  Like I said our money should be refunded.  If you were an honerable business man that is what you would do.  but you are not; you are a crook taking advantage of peole whho want to better themselves.  In todays economy, all it takes is one injury and your life can be turned uside down.  Then people like you come along promising to help and only hurt you more.  You are a disgrace.  I have reported you to the BBB, and plan to see this through because I am an educated person and your fancy words do not scare or intimidate me.  I hope and pray that others read this and steer clear of you and the mortgage lender thhat you receive your referals from.

Jennifer,

I don't think you are understanding what I am saying.  You have 6 New collections that are not part of any of the existing accounts you had when you started.  I asked you not to pay any of the existing collections at this time so we can see if they are valid or not.  I hope this makes more sense to you?

The New collections are the reason of your scores dropping so much.  The definition of New is: Adjective: Not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time:

By the way if you do the math on the difference of your scores that you are talking about roughly losing only 50 points and jennifer you may have lost way over a 150 points with 6 New collections!

What that means is that you may have gained over 150 points with me and then lost them due to having 6 new collections!!  Also, just to set the record straight, I never tell anyone not to pay their debts, I only advise you not to pay the items in question when you get started because we want to verify if they are reporting accurately first.
You came to us with a goal of buying a home and we have helped many many people achieve those goals.  Unfortunately some don't because they don't know how to follow direction.  They just Angry and do things they don't mean.
You never once asked me for a consultation in person, or even walked in to my office to ask me if I can explain why your credit looks the way it looks?  I feel that your comments are really invalid and unnecessary.  This will be my last response to you on this report.  Have a blessed holiday......

I was told by you not to pay any of these creditors while working with you thats why they are in collections so once agian thanks for all you hard work. My credit score was 525 before you after you its 497. Please people do not be  fooled by this guy you can fix your credit on your own. I would still like my refund but I know that wont happen. You must need the money more than I do.

Hello Jennifer,

I did some research and found out who you are and after careful research of your file, we had sent you an email letting you know that you have 6 Brand New Charge off or Collection Accounts that appeared after we got started on your file.  At least 4-6 months after we got started.  We had promised improving your credit on the 30+ negative items that you originally came in with and we were still working on your file.  Why did you stop sending us the information??  We had only send out 3 rounds of disputes and We gave you life time access to our services for a flat fee that you paid in payments while we work on the accounts you came in with and dear Jennifer, we never told you we couldn't help you!  Anger, is our own worst enemy and never serves anyone.  Each new negative item that would appear on anyone's credit reports may drop their credit scores anywhere from 45-65 points + according to ( FICO ) Fair Issac Company.  You have 6 Brand New Accounts on your credit and according to  (FICO ) you may have lost anywhere from 270 to 390 Points + according to how the credit bureaus ( FICO ) Scoring Calculator rates you.  I know this doesn't seem fair and fixing credit definitely takes more than 3 rounds of disputes and time.  Sometimes it may take month's and sometimes it may take years.   We have proof of improvement on your credit reports within the 6 months of work in your file and it still needs more work.  Basically, if you keep having New Collection Or Charge Off Accounts showing up on your credit it will definitely go backwards just like your experiencing on your credit now!  I forgive you for calling me a thief!

Still Willing to help you,

Manny Moumdjian

Really Manny,

I paid 2,734.00 in payments of 734.00 down as a set up fee plus 333.00 per month for 6 months.  I have  the contract,, the bank debits, and the bank statements.  My credit score is worse than when my partner and I started and we followed your directions exactly.  You did have things removed that did not belong to us I will give you that.  But when we tried to get our 100% refund because thier was no improvement in our credit scores you refused.  I have multiple emails that I have sent you requesting my refund so I could attempt to rebuild my credit myself. You have sent no return corespondense.  You should be ashamed of yourself taking atvantage of people who are trying to do the right thing after a difficult time in thier lives.  We are now out 2734.00 that could have been used to help pay some of the bills that accrued while I was unemployed.  I sincerely hope that the BBB shuts you down before you can do this to someone else.

Hello Jennifer,

I really don't understand what you are talking about because, first I don't know which Jennifer this is and I don't think I recall speaking to you about any of your concerns?  Please contact me right away to resolve any issues you may have.  There is no reason to be upset because we can always resolve any situation, I'm actually surprised to see this post because you didn't even email me or call and ask for me here in my office?  Also, you have my address, why wouldn't you come in and speak to me in person?  I'm a very fair Man and sometimes a miscommunication or misunderstanding of credit is normally the issue at hand.  I ask you kindly to come in and discuss what is aching you and not post comments out of anger!  Do you actually believe that I'm a Theif?  Really? That's Rediculous, we help thousands of people improve their credit and we can always help you, even if it's just to understand why certain things report the way they do.  I thank you very much for your feed back, because it just means I need to set forth more education to the consumers to better understand how their credit works for them.  Again, I apologize for any reaction you've had because I really want to get to the bottom of it and help you.

Sincerely Manny Moumdjian

I have also used your services I gave you almost $3,000.00 dollars and you made my credit even worse than when I started wiuth you. You offer a money back gaurantee I have not seen a dime. You told me I could keep working with you, I would have to be beyond stupid to do that. Yes you did get some items deleted from my credit report, but your employees had told me to make no payments to my creditors so I didnt. When I called to speak to you about it you told me that because these items went into collections that is why my credit score has droped so low.So you have not helped at all you took my money and ruined my credit even more. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am in contact with an attorney. May GOD bless you!!

Hello Consumer(s),

I read your report and I was aching to read that you and your spouse feel the way that you do about me or my company.  I am very sincere and willing to help you with your needs, especially if I knew who you were?  I understand that you may be angry and after reading your comments I understand that you are and I would like to correct what ever it is that you feel didn't happen for you.  My contract's are written according to the law of what we can and cannot say to the consumer.  Basically, if you read the contract and you weren't happy with something, why would you not come to me first and ask me to explain the area of the contract you didn't understand and honestly why would you sign it if you weren't clear?  I'm not saying you did anything wrong, however I would have loved your feed back so I can help you understand whatever it is that you didn't understand and I may have learned something new out of your feed back that i would improve on my behalf.  I'm a human being and I'm not perfect I'm just curious why you didn't come to me first?  I am proud to say that we have helped thousands of people get back on track with their credit situations and you are really the first to put an honest report on our company.

I'm writing to you today with compassion because this is not normal for my company especially if we offer every consumer improvement within 6 months and if they don't see any, we would refund 100% of what ever they paid us for a service.  No questions asked.  That is in my contract and I'm just curious why you didn't contact me for a refund if you saw no improvement like you claimed??  It's ok that you responded this way but you could have just called us.  I really liked the comment about you making more money now and that $2000 wont break you?  I'm genuinely happy for you however, your story sounds a little made up especially that you are Anonymous and we don't even know who you are??  This statement is to all the consumers that read this report, after reading "Los Angeles consumers Report" if I have in writing on my agreement that if you have no improvement in your credit within a term of 6 months you will get a  full 100% refund, why would you wait one year and then just write a bad report on someone??  All you have to do is call us and we will take care of the situation right away.  If I'm not available I have employees that would get me your message immediately for me to contact you right away!  We are a solution oriented company and are still willing to help you "Los Angeles Consumer" Please contact us as soon as possible so the truth may set you free!
God Bless You.  Manny Moumdjian
