Company will try to charge you outrageous prices for products that at best, may work.Much of the information and sales pitch they give you is not true or greatly exaggerated. When they came to my house,I confronted them with info that I had picked up off the computer, first they denied it was there,I offered to show them, then they said what was there was not true.I pointed out that their company ,prices, and product, were very contriversial,if they wanted to leave me a quote on company letterhead,a business card(the night before the salesman told my sister-in law he had no business card and there was no way to get up with him),that I would further check out his company and products and compare prices with better known similar products. He refused to give me prices. He then implied that I did not know what I was talking about,I said "Okay,I will now show you the info on the computer".As i was bringing this info online,he promptly left. Today I checked with our local fire marshall about what I had and what I needed. Not much really, but based on his recomendations,I made a serious upgrade,to the point of overkill for $114.00.It took me 30 minutes to read the instructions, install and test 5 units. They had quoted my sister-in -law $4400.00 for 9 units. The eqipment I installed was higher end,by no means more safer, than other products that would have worked. One product had a 10 year sealed lithium battery, the other was a combo ionization-photo unit.
My advise to you would be not to believe a word I have said, punch up "Masterguard" on Google and go from there. In less than 15 minutes you can save yourself an enormus amount of money.
Then contact your local Fire Marshall about what you need and where you need it.It is likely that he will recommend additional units.but you will be shocked how little this costs. In case you aren't familiar with fire marshalls,no new constructed building or renovated building can be occupied until he is "HAPPY".He is responsible to see that all codes and equipment have been met and is responsible for testing same.Fire marshalls are busy but very approacable.Part of their job is dealing with the public.
