MCI WorldCom fraudulent billing YEARS after service was discontinued Phoenix Arizona
I had MCI as my long distance service, briefly, three to five years ago. I did not care for their service and discontinued it.
I kept getting billed beyond my cut off date. I figured "perhaps I cut off in the middle of the billing month" apporximately two bills after I discontinued the service.
One day, at least rour months later, I got a bill for 26cents. I ignored it as I knew I had paid two bills after my discontinuataion of service and both bills were full the full amount asked for. They kept harrassing me for the 26 cents. So I wrote back to them. They ignored my inquiry and I wrote back And called them again. When I requested a breakdown of the bill (it was refused) and threatened to report them for harrassment. THEY STOPPED BOTHERING ME.
This reprieve from harrassment happened years ago and it lasted for several years.
They started harrassing me again. They call my phone number and leave messages. They send me trumped up bills WHICH NOW TOTAL
$86.41. They are threatening to report ME to a collection agency.
I have no idea why they have chosen to resume billing me when I discontinued and paid for my services over five years ago.
Perhaps it is because they are in trouble for being frauds in the cellular and wireless sections of their business...
I do notice that whereas their bills and envelopes USED TO BE ADDRESSED "MCI WORLDCOM" they are now just addressed "MCI" could they be trying to clean up their image? I don't know.
I have no intention of paying this fraudulent and now trumped up bill. I think I'll report them to every single consumer agency I know.
