Hi Chris, Here is some news info: read for yourself. Go to idiglobal.com, click on News Events Tab, read article dated 2/26/04. IDI used sales/marketing groups that get some sales by omitting program details; close sales prior to letting the consumer know all the facts. Read reports on Summit Consulting, PMI /Professional Marketing Inc, NMR /National Marketing Resources, PCS /Professional Consulting Services, OnlineSupplier.com = NeWave, StoresOnline, Links4Trade, Quicksite Builder, Bright Builder. Read more of IDI web articles. Their articles show what dates they have outsourced, partnered, merged or purchased with these companies. I agree with you. The IDI monthly hosting fee is a lot per month compared to the open market and being able to choose your own. Reports I have read did not like or have any success with either Quicksite Builder or Bright Builder online software to build their own web pages or the Links4Trade web hit generating attempt. Links4Trade is listed in reports from StoresOnline and Auctions for Income, also with a few PMI reports. Plus no one can claim to control search engines, they are set up that way. Do a search on Search Engine Scams. Anyone claiming they can guarantee or generate hits to your site would be another attempt to get your hard earned income. I think it a huge mistake for Mela to have done this to their loyal customers. There are folks who love or hate the product - to that - to each their own. I feel it a huge slap in the face to Mela customer base to force this on them. They may think they are doing a good thing, from all the negatives I have read, one will have to wait and see. The IDI news - reports that they are generating increases of 24 million in a quarter could be one of the reasons Mela bought in. What is Mela getting from IDI I wonder? Any kickbacks? I doubt that this move is only for their customer base to get on line, the hosting fee is definitely high enough to provide Mela with a kickback of sorts, hummmm, I wonder? How unfair is that to all their loyal customers. Not enough that they make their sales %, they have to force this on you to make more? I'm sure there are other reasons, other possibilities; I would think Mela would have sent out a notice describing to everyone the reasons behind this move. They certainly owe all of you some explanation. I am a long time consumer of another herbal company product and had joined a magnetic product company. After about six months the magnetic company decided to carry herbal products and told everyone that they could not be a member of any other business, only theirs. I left the magnetic company. While I felt it a good move and liked some of the new herbal products carried by the magnetic company, the herbal company had been in the herbal business for over 25 years at the time and wasn't about to abandon it for the magnetic company jumping on the band wagon, and then demanding we leave it for them exclusively. This was a good 7 years ago. I read the IDI / Melaleuca connection in late 2004. I wondered how long it would take to start seeing reports here. Especially because IDI has involved themselves with companies, some, having many reports here at rip-off and Unsatisfactory ratings with the BBB's. Answer, less than six months. It is so sad to see people buy into these types of companies, put so much time & effort to make something good for them and the company benefits as well - and then get strong armed by the company they have been supporting and loyal to, in the name of what? "Greed maybe". Too bad Mela couldn't see the bigger picture (the well being of their customer base) (what is best for all their loyal customers). Maybe it isn't too late and hopefully they will see the light and reverse this decision. It is one thing to offer you the services of IDI's software and hosting but to demand it as the only option you have - man - what an eye opener. Mela has shown their allegiance to their owners/stockholders, not to those they should have better appreciation for. I wish all of you best.
