Merchants Credit Guide ripoff Chicago Illinois
They are calling about a debt from 1980 that I settled with the original debtor over 20 years ago. Merchants Credit Guide calls me at all hours & screams obscene words at me. This debt originated from a credit card that was mailed to the wrong address in my name, another person used it, I reported it as fraud, and settled the debt with the credit card company.
Now Merchants Credit Guide won't stop calling me. I've tried reporting them to the FTC & I get a run-around (report it to fraud, they tell me to report to another department, then they direct me back to the fraud department). I tried to report them to the Illinois State Attorney & they don't seem to be interested. I'm so tired of all these calls about a debt that doesn't even exist.
