On March 13, 2010,I visited Midas to have them repair a leak in front of the radiator of my truck. I was informed that the upper radiator hose was the cause of the leakage and I was charged $510.64 for the service. A couple of weeks later I'd noticed the leak still existed. I'd returned to Midas expressing my concerns. After having Midas recheck the reason for the leak, I was informed that my radiator needs to be replaced.

I failed to understand why the bad radiator wasn't detected the first time and why I was charged $510.64 for a temporary relief.  I still have a leakage and I out of $510.64 for a matter that should have been detected the first time.  If their Automobile experts why am I experiencing this dilemna?

Where does it say in your Nissans owners manual when it requires a "fuel injection service"? I bet it doesn't say anything about this at all. and it was about as useless as replacing the hose and still having a leak.

You ask why you are experiencing the dilemma? It may be because they may be better at ripping people off, then servicing vehicles.

However, give them a chance to make good..tell them to leave the injectors and hoses alone next time and just fix the leak which was why you brought it to these "experts" in the first place.

Granted they took you for the fuel injection service..whatever lord knows they actually did if anything, but they should give you a price break on the radiator replacement and not charge you for any hoses or coolant this time.

You might actually wish to cut your losses and find a better shop anyhow. Ask around everyone you know who is a good honest mechanic who won't over charge and perform unnecessary "services" or charge for things they didn't actually do (how do you know for a fact Midas "flushed" the system and not just emptied and refilled it?). Good honest mechanics are still out there but you need to find them. They will usually be the busy ones.

ok--when first reading this it looked like they charged you 500$ to replace an upper hose--after looking at the receipt this comes more into perspective--it looks like they charged you 100$ for the fuel injection service--150$ for the belt--and 100$ for the coolant flush--it looks like they charged you 150$ for the actual upper hose--which i admit seems high--however--you have a nissan pathfinder and these vehicles are not very pretty to work on-which is why i ahte people that drive nissan pathfinders--may i suggest working with them on the price for the radiator and somehow discounting the upper hose that was not needed---it is not there fault you decided to do the coolant, fuel injection services and the belt--these are upsells/maint items--it is there fault they sold you something you didn't need to fix a problem that is still there
