Midas Tire & Muffler - Wayne Chapman blew up my engine, Midas's explanations: I was told I was an Idiot, I was told it was my fault for not checking over their work, I shouldn't beat on my car, LIES LIES and more LIES is the best and only good work they do. ripoff Glenwood Springs Colorado
I took my truck into Midas to have them replace a intake manifold. I was given multiple estimates on how long that takes 4 1\2 hrs. to 6 hrs. (at the most). I took my truck in at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. I didn't get my car back until Friday at about 6:05 P.M. To top it off, when I went in on Friday morning.
WAYNE CHAPMAN was the kid working on my car. I was told by Wayne Chapman if he didn't have it done by 6:00 that night something went wrong.
Something did go wrong the minute I left the shop.
I was told by Wayne Chapman when I received my truck, that the check engine light was on. He told me he didn't have time to finish the work on my truck but that all I needed to do was "drive it hard" to clean out the injectors. If I had any problems that I should come back in a couple of days.
I called that night on my way home and no one answered. I called the next morning and the manager told me to drive it back to the shop slowly. I brought it in on a Tuesday early in the day. So I called back that night and the secretary told me they looked at my truck and it's DEAD. I called the next day and spoke with the manager who told me NO ONE has looked at my car. He also told me Wayne had hurt himself on Tuesday and that Wayne was sick the next day. So I had to wait till he got back (which was mostly lies if not all).
They waited until the check cleared. And that's why they LIED to me and wouldn't tell me what had happened until check cleared.
When I asked what happened, before anything about my truck I was told that my truck was dead and it was my fault. The manager told me that I should have drove slowly home and that I beat on my truck. I told him what Wayne said and Wayne denied it.
The next time I called in the same manager told me that I'm a Idiot. Because I didn't check over their work before driving home.
I filed a complaint with the BBB and the manager and Wayne just lied AGAIN! This time it was because I went against his instructions and said I was supposed to come right back if any problems. I called 5 minutes after leaving and no one answered.
I've been lied to SOO many times at Midas.
I can't believe Midas (a nationwide business) can have employee's like Wayne Chapman.
I don't think Wayne is really a mechanic. I think he only suposed to oil changes but they let him blow up my truck.
