Package Savings!  I was paying $112 a month.  After I switched to their $99 a month plan, I got charged upgraded individual services...instead of a package deal...for 27 days, because it was not on their monthly billing date.

I called 3 different times to ask questions before switching and asked how they prorated it, and if it was better for me to wait for the billing cycle.  I was told they prorate off the $99 price and why wait when I could get upgraded channels and higher speed internet immediately, and my telephone included in this price.  I ask and ask.  I ask about other fees.  They said their was no other fees for installation.

Not having a landline phone for over 7 years, I didn't know there was like $27 a month in fees and taxes on a phone line, and noone said a word.  Well until the bill was $174.80

Only then did they say they charged me 27 days individual upgraded service prices and taxes and fees, which were mostly the phone was $36+.

You tell me, how does paying $174.80 this month save me money over last month's bill of $112?

IT DOES NOT!  NOW NEXT MONTH WILL ALSO BE A RIP-OFF BECAUSE WHEN I CALL TO CHANGE BACK, I AGAIN GET CHARGED INDIVIDUAL SERVICE CHARGES UNTIL IT HITS THE BILLING CYCLE...BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THEY BILL 1 MONTH IN ADVANCE.

I had their lowest price basic internet service and their lowest dvr cable tv package. I had my telephone service with another carrier.  Midcontinent solicited me in my cable bill and again in our local newspaper on new package deals with all 3 services for $99 a month.  Yes and the basic internet would go to a premium upgrade, and the dvr package would go to a theater preferred upgrade and the telephone would be added and included for this one monthly fee of $99.  (In small print hardly readable it said taxes and fees not included, which I did not see or read because of such small print.)

I called several times and asked many many questions.  How do they bill, how do they prorate because the internet and tv would get upgraded by their office but it would be like 10 days longer until they could come out and install the telephone.  Oh yes, they told me they would prorate it by how many days each service.  I asked over and over if the prorate would be based on the $99 monthly fee or if I would get charged higher rates.  They replied back like I was asking crazy questions and assured me that it was based off the $99 "package" based on what days of useage each service.  I asked over and over if there was any other costs and they said zero extra installation.  No one ever said there is a bunch...like $27 a month or so in taxes and fees on the telephone.  I have always just had a cell phone or a phone through my internet.  There are only like $3 or $4 of taxes with those phones, so I had no clue about all the landline phone fees through them, nor did the 3 customer service reps I talked with, ever say a word about them.

Since there is only 1 cable company here in Bismarck ND they have cornered the market and can screw anyone they want to...and they do...

Now when I call to change back...I will again occure...individual charges because it's not their full cycle.  And if you wait for the full cycle, they tell me then the bill will still be charged wrongly because they bill 1 month in-advance.

Talk about your crooks!

I was thinking of switching to Midcontinent cable UNTIL I was told they charge $16.00 a month for a DVR and will not Sell them to a customer. After I finished talking to the rep. they had a "good deal" BUT only for ONE YEAR -- then wow it really jumped up. I now have century link and the DVR is 9 bucks a month with two other dvr's FREE. Looks like midcontinent is really taking advantage of some areas where they have a monopoly. thankfully, I have other ways to do it.....i.e. dish etc. which is much less costly !!
