Midwest Auto Recycling WORST COMPANY EVER, FALSE ADVERTISING, LIARS, PLEASE, I BEG YOU DO NOT BUY FROM THEM !! Cudahy Wisconsin
In August 1, 2008, I purchased an engine from Midwest Auto Recycling, for my 1996 BMW 318i, in the amount of $1495.00, which was billed to my Ebay Master Card, account number ending on 3992. After receiving my engine I took it to a mechanic to have the engine mounted in my vehicle. The mechanic looked somewhat concern from the beginning about the engine. After the engine was mounted, two days after the engine was delivered on the 19 of August 2008, which was 18 after the purchase date, when they advertise the engine was to arrive in 10-14 days in the first place. The engine began to leak oil, the mechanic stated that something was cracked around the oil pan, or it could be the oil pan itself. The mechanic suggested I called Midwest Auto Recycling, which I did on the next business day on Monday, August 25, 2008, since the car was serviced on a weekend.
After calling Midwest Auto Recycling that day, I was told that warranty wouldn't cover such a crack or an oil pan, or any leaks. The receptionist told me that maybe it happen when it was being shipped and they weren't responsible at all for that. Then the engine wouldn't stay on and was idle and my mechanic mentioned that it could be possibly out of time. I then took the car to another mechanic, who diagnosed the problem as a timing problem too. The new mechanic told me it would cost about around $1050 for parts and labor. I called Midwest Auto Recycling to speak to them about the matter and they would never anwer me directly, but would tell me that they would call me in a few minutes, which would turn into a few hours, then everytime I would call, one of the representatives of the company, a guy named Dale, would tell that warranty wouldn't cover any of that and that "we recommend you change that, umm uhuh, yeah you should change that." Then Midwest Auto Recyling to me to fax over an estimate of everything. At one call they would tell me yeah you want something credited to your account, then they would say well we are going to check over this, and we will call you back. Never a direct answer, until I said I would ship the engine back and request all my money would be refunded, at which point Dale or some representative, would offer to cover one small thing, when the whole timing set needed to be purchased with the vehicle, along with gaskets, which all engines are advertised as being "complete engines". They advertised all of their engine are ran and tested, when in fact I called Midwest Auto Recyling about the testing issue and asked if they tested the timing of the vehicle, I was told that unfortunately they don't test the timing of the vehicle, completely false advertising.
The representatives all treated me with disrespect and one of them told me "that's what you get when you buy an expensive vehicle, like a BMW." If anyone has any further information on this company please contact me. I contacted the deparment of Better Business Bureau in Wisconsin and they told that this company was indeed linked to Midcity auto salvage, and renamed midwest auto recycling, please call them yourself and find out for yourself the truth. I am going to file a lawsuit againt them, please joing me in brining justice to this fraudulent business.
