How funny that this compnay is in Painesville! I am in dispute with them about the true weight of my items they are moving. They were a company that was sub-contracted for our move from Precision moving without a choice and our move should have been inventory not weight based to begin with.

We had an estimate weight of 2300lbb. This estimate was given by moving companies that came and saw the actual amount of stuf we were moving. A small house 635 sq.feet. We were shocked when they called us and said we were over weight by 1200 lbs.

What? We asked for a re-weight of the truck. We were then told that in doing that the weight amount could actually go up.

I asked why would it go up and they said that it would be based on the driver's and his helpers weight as well as the amount of gas that the truck had in it. SO they do not tare these things out. I am not paying for my items but also for the weight of gas and personel in the truck as well. That does not seem fair to me. A re-weigh, if accurate, should be the same or close both times.

My thought is that they brought the truck to my house with a low tank of gas, filled up my belongings into the truck, fuled up and then had the truck re-weighed. Now I have to pay for that extra weight.

I asked for a back weight where they would weigh the truck with my stuff with a full tank of gas, drop my stuff off, refill the truck's gas and have it re-weighed so we can see the true weight of my items. I also asked that I be present for both of these weights.

They are going to hold my stuff hostage until I pay them and the threat that they are going to charge me more for wanting a re-weigh only makes thing more scketchy.

Their web site says that they are friendly and courtious but i have not encountered that with any of the 5 people I have talked with.

After fighting to be at the re-weigh they weighed the truck with our load and then re-weighed it without our load and just as we though they were 1000 lbs. off!!! They were going to charge us for 3500 lbs. when we only shipped 2400 lbs. They never said sorry or anything. Also, all of our boxes came broken and bashed in. It looked like they had gone trough a war or something!!! They lost our bed rails and a nice folding table we had. Because of the $150 deductible we are not going to see a dime in return for our loss. We have to go and buy a whole new bed! Complaining got us a small loss of items but it gained us over $1000 in over charge fees.

Just a couple of weeks ago Arizona Weights and Measures busted a mover here in Tucson because of fraudulent weight claims. Call the Weights and Measures immediately and try to get them to weigh that load. Their phone number is 602-255-5211.

http://www.protectyourmove.gov/consumer/awareness/rights/rights.htm This is a link to the DOT's "Your Rights And Responsibilities When You Move". Read it top to bottom. You'll see Morse cannot charge you for a re-weigh. And you can ask the guys to get off the truck when they do the weighing. But none of this really matters, because they are holding your load hostage and will not give it to you until you play by their rules, and there's not a d**n thing you can do about it. You should probably be prepared to pay what they are asking. Have them do the re-weighings both before and after. Sign the paperwork "re-weigh pending". Make sure you get actual copies of the certified weight tickets (which come in triplicate, so you should get a carbon copy on the spot). If need be, you can go to civil court afterwards to get the mount overcharged to you retrned, but the profits from that are negligible. Bottom line, get your stuff back, and cry foul as loud as you can later. Write an update and I'll tell you exactly which websites to go to to file official complaints, and some un-official consumer-run sites like this wonderful palce. But gettting your story out there for future custoemrs of Morse to read is the first big step./ Oh, and should anyone tell you that you need to remove this story because it's slander or libel, tell them to bite you. It's not either.
