yes the computer should last more than 17 months, but you have no warrenty. because you the costumer bid not buy he computer. G.M. did. they do not extend the warrenty on parts replaced under warrenty, and it is not just G.M. it is all the manufaturers. now as to the time when warrenty work is done the manufaturers say how much time they will pay for. when work is done that is not warrenty most repair shops go by chilton time guides. and yes times are differnt.
