Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
NAFS left a voice mail on my office line telling me that my brother was involved in a "legal matter" and to have him call their company to gain immediate assistance. On the voice mail, she also said that she got my number because my brother referenced me. I called my brother and asked him if he knew them or what they might want with him. He had no idea who they were and suggested that I avoid them in case they were identify thieves. I did a quick search on the internet and immediately found articles about their abusive tactics and other questionable business practices. I called the woman back and asked her how she got my number. It occurred to me that she called my 'office line' and nobody in my family has that number.

After she said "my brother referenced me" and i realized she called a number he wouldn't have, I figured she was lying. When I called back I told her who I was and asked her what line of business her company was in. She said they were debt collectors. It was at this point that I felt lied to and violated. I told her in a calm voice that she had no right to call me to get to a family member and that if she felt her company had some business with my brother, they should keep that between him and her company.

I then asked her to never call me or anyone else in my family again in an attempt to do business with my brother. She started to argue with me and even yell at me over the phone and told me that if my brother would take care of his business she wouldn't have to call me or anyone else in my family. I then reiterated that I didn't want her calling my sister, my mother or anyone else in order to reach my brother. If they had business with him, that was only between him and NAFS. She wasn't done yelling (yes, really yelling) at me and then she hung up on me while I was talking.

I called back to talk to a manager and the manager was very calm and professional at first. I related the whole conversation, since it was still fresh in my mind. I was in a calm and professional (but strong) voice. I told the manager that I felt lied to and used. Her representative implied that she was calling to help my brother with some legal matter he was involved in and that he referenced me and that is why she called me. I asked that my number be removed from their lists and told the manager that the other representative agreed not to call any other family members before she hung up on me. I also explained how unprofessional the first woman became by the end of the call, which resulted in the first woman hanging up on me. The manager did apologize and said that the first woman had no permission to agree to that and that, according to the FDPCA, they had a right to call family members once a day.

I repeated that I don't want their company to call any of my family members, especially if they were going to use lying tactics, in order to reach my brother. She said she couldn't agree to that and her company policy allowed for it. I again told her that the first woman already agreed and that her verbal commitment was as good as a signed contract. The manager became very upset at that and told me, "take your verbal commitment to your lawyer and have a good day". She then hung up on me in anger! I didn't get a chance to even respond to her comment.

Please avoid this company at all costs. I've read some horrible comments about how this company conducts business and treats customers and even employees. Very disturbing stuff. The first person I talked to told me her name was cindy macnamara and the manager told me her name was ms. myers. Both of them proved to be completely unprofessional and uncaring. I can't imagine the environment that they work in that would produce such blatant offenses by employees.

I have to say, after getting off of the phone with these morons today, AFTER being hung up on 4 TIMES, HOW are these idiots in business? I actually thought I was going a bit nutty when I was on the phone with them and I'm talking in a normal tone voice but I am a bit annoyed, since 2 months ago, when they were told that the person they were trying to locate NEVER lived here and that I've had this number for 2 years and they told me, like they told you, that they would take my # out of their computer. The good thing this time is, I recorded the whole thing. Each time they hung up on me when I was simply asking them why they were still calling MY HOME. This company screwed with the wrong woman and they CANNOT treat people like this. I hope your calls have stopped. Take care
