As an individual who has worked in Customer Service you as a consumer need to be more aware of who you give your information to. When you sign up on a website with your name, watch out. You will suddenly get on everyone's list and you will receive a lot of phone calls.
Be careful. If something sounds too good to be true then take your time. Do not give out any banking or credit card information. If after checking things out which you can do and any company that is reputable will allow you to do this then you can call them back. Medical Savings plans are good for those of you who cannot afford major medical and they will give you real savings if you follow the instructions that they give you. I for one know that NBAA is real and it does provide major savings again, if you follow the instructions. I have talked to numerous people who are quite happy with the plan and they receive significant savings on their medicaitons.
You must be willing to go to a doctor in their network and use generic drugs or therapeutic alternatives. Most consumers are spoiled. They think all they have to do is plop down their cards and wham. It doesn't work that way. You have to find a doctor that is willing to negotiate their services as well as hospitals that will negotiate. Herman, I do feel sorry but honestly, you should have done your homework. You agreed to the plan and I am sure that NBAA had a tape recording on you agreeing to it. Again, be careful.
Medical Savings plans are not for everyone but if you cannot afford a major medical or have a medical situation where you would be declined by an insurance carrier then at least you would have something. SOmething is better than nothing, right? By signing up on the Internet you invited all of these people into your home via the phone.
If you are looking for a medicare supplement then go through your local yellow pages. I am sure there in Newport News that there quite a few agents that would be more than happy to help you with a medicare supplement. You can always call the insurance carrier and check the agent out too. A quality agent will not be afraid to have you call the insurance carrier and check them out.
Please note that NBAA is not the only medical savings plans operating out there so be forewarned that you will probably be getting more calls. Your name is sold to companies and given to agents, etc. to call.
