My 16 year old son was returning from Europe and called us in Washington from a payphone at the Atlanta airport. He used the credit card we gave him for urgent matters. The phone had language stating charges of around 12 cents per minute. Two charges (one to us and one to a friend of his) were on the credit card, each for about $24.00. I called my credit card and reported this as a fraud. These were not collect calls but were direct dialed. My son is a bright kid and would not have made these calls had there been any clear evidence of this sort of charge.

I am shocked at this matter, will not pay the bill and am especially amazed that Hartsfield Airport would allow such pay phones on their premises. I will call the airport and let them know of this.

This is a waste of my time. It will result in the closing of my card and the issuance of new ones, and I will have to correct automatic charges.

I hope that someone will force this company out of business. I don't want to call them to get this reversed. They need to be taught a lesson. Perhaps there is a class-action waiting to happen?

$24 per call sounds high, but am assuming your son spoke for a long duration. Please call our customer service department to discuss or send a letter to the president of the company at P.O. Box 551, Longview, Texas 75606. Thank you.
