Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was happy to receive my purchase; this was back in Feb or March of 08. I received a call, stating that my order would be shipped but that Newport wanted to offer a cool service to me for a one time fee of about $20 and I could try it for the year, if I didn't like it or use it they would refund me the money or give me a gift card to use on NewportNews.com.

I didn't really want the service but the man that called was very tricky, he actually didn't tell me that I would have to pay for this "Insider Pass" until the end and I had to verbally say yes so that he could process the transaction. I decided to let it go and see what they had to offer, since I was told I would get my money back I decided to proceed.

I only ONCE ever received a pamphlet from them showing their services and what they offer, and they were not that great to be honest.... I would have to spend way more to actually reap the benefits of these "rewards"!

As time passed, I would notice that small deductions of $12 or $14 dollars were coming out of my checking account, but I didn't pay much attention to them because I use my debit card a lot and at times it is not always easy to keep track of my spending.

In the last few months, however, I have been watching what I spend, as we all are during these difficult times, and I realized that I did not authorize this purchase on my debit.

Flaming mad I called their Customer Service, which I have to say is pretty good, and that is probably why they are so good at deceiving people. I spoke to a Jessica, explained the situation to her and she stated that she could stop the deductions from happening and could also refund me the $14.95 that was taken out of my checking for the month of August. She also stated that it would take 7-10 business days for that to occur.

Well, I still don't have my $14.95 back and I am really not just satisfied with $14.95. I want all the rest that they have taken out, which my bank and I have yet to add up. Thank goodness my bank is really good about going to bat for its members but I know others are not this fortunate.

Please DO NOT fall victim to this company. They are actually run by Encore Marketing International, if you look on their web site www.encoremarketing.com they will happily tell you about all their ways of trying to get you to buy things. They are the typical solicitors that we all know and love that call us during our dinner hour.

The scary part about them is, they are authorized by Newport News to CALL YOU because you have given your information already, and they will most likely tell you that "your order is ready to be shipped, but we would just like to follow up with you." What company does that unless they want something further from you?

Obviously it is not a good idea to trust a company that states, "...we are committed to ensuring the privacy of your personal information and will use any information you give us in a responsible manner. You are very important to us and we are dedicated to providing you with a safe and secure online experience." (Newport News.com Privacy Policy Statement) But how "responsible" are they when they share your information with a company that illegally deducts money from your credit cards??

Just ignore their ads, even though their clothes are nice, ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT!
