I got an upsetting telephone call from someone by the name of Christine who claims she is with Nextel. In addition, wanted payment on your bill that is only 17 days late and we had arranged with Nextel to make payment the end of November.
This woman first yelled at my daughter in law because I was sleeping it was 8:35am est. Then got nasty with my 17-year-old son on the telephone that wanted to see who it was and yelling on the telephone.
When I got on the telephone, this person did not identify herself except saying she wanted me to make payment now on the telephone. I tried to explain to her that I had arranged this month and she is calling me a liar, dishonest person etc. In addition, told me to sell some of my belongings and get escrow on my house so I can pay the amount owed is only $129.02.
That is not why I drive around in luxury and not have beautiful gifts and cannot buy some things she threaten me with placing lean and all the against me. I am depressed, enough because I cannot give my children a Christmas and my wife a gift. This is the first time ever I got a call like this we do pay our bills just this passed months things got harder to get caught up on because of my medical condition and the high cost of doctors and medicine.
I am permanent disability not my fault I got sick and had two strokes and no seizures and was in the hospital 7 times last month
When I asked her for her name she told me Christine and I asked for her employee number she refused to give it me. And told me her supervisor was coming and hung up on me.
I called Nextel to told them and got a supervisor on the telephone who told me not to worry about it that our account is in good standings and that it has been all ready noted before that payment would be the end of the month.
She did say that she did not know any Christine, there are different divisions, and they would check it out and would get back to me on Tuesday.
This Christine action was uncalled for and also was in violation of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I did mentioned that to the supervisor that I got hold of at Nextel and told her that if we don't have results I will seek legal consul.
Just beware of there tacts in collections.
Sorry for rambling here but I am still shaking and this call was 5 hours ago.
