On August 15, 2001 I purchased my new all cherry wood bedroom set including a queen size bed with headboard and footboard along with a mattress and boxspring. I did not know anything about installing a bed frame and what was required depending upon the size of the mattress.

In November 2007 my bedframe broke. (Not that it matters, I weigh 135lbs and am the only person sleeping in my bed.) Upon describing the problem to the manufacturer of my bed, I learned that North Coast BEDS should have installed center supports for the mattress. They failed to do so. I had absolutely no center supports on my bed.

I contacted the manager of NorthCoast BEDS, Jim several times. I gave him my invoice number, informed him that my salesperson was Chad, and also sent an email to North Coast BEDS. I have not yet received a response from either of them.

Before this incident happened, I thought North Coast BEDS was a company with a good reputation who really valued their customers. I thought they had the expertise in knowing how to properly install their beds and other furnishings. What I have learned is this company devalues their customers and all they want to do is to make a sale. I have learned they could careless about providing quality service in properly installing their furnishings.

I explained to Jim, the manager, If I knew all about installing beds I would have questioned why they did not place the mattress supports and would have insisted they placed them on the bed frame immediately. I would have never laid nor slept in a bed without the support rails if I had known about them and their importance. I trusted that North Coast BEDS had the expertise in properly installing their beds. Boy was I wrong!

I since then contacted a reputable furniture store who assisted me in ordering what I needed. In less than 10 days had those things installed on my bed. I had to replace the Cherry wood rails and also order the metal bed support kit (3 center mattress supports). My box spring remains warpped. North Coast BEDS should also replace my box spring.

If North Coast BEDS would have apologized to me for this happening and rectified the problem. I would not have reported them. They simply failed me the consumer in providing me with the service I paid them to do. I get chills wondering how many other consumers they have provided very poor service to.

Even though My bed was installed in 2001, broke in 2007 North Coast BEDS was still responsible for providing products that failed to perform the way they were designed and guranteed to perform as a result of poor installation. We as consumers must stand our ground and demand quality service no matter how long ago the error was made. We must continue to stand up to these PARASITIC companies and confront these issues as they occur as we continue to spend our very hard earned money.

If the bed had been missing a center support, the problem would have shown up almost immediately which then would have been taken care of by the company in 2001 with proof of purchase, NOT SIX YEARS LATER.
