I went to a North Texas Nissan, and was looking to buy a car, and had a salesman tell me about this new program that Nissan is offering. He made it sound like a purchase plan and it was what every one is doing but in all reality it was just a lease.
They told me with $6000.00 down and my wifes car for trade in that they could get me financed for 579.00 per monthn with 2%intrest. They never once mentioned lease. Well after 5 hour wait I finally got the contract, had 3 guys standing over me telling me to disregard these numbers they were just using these figures to get me approved and that there verbal agreement stood.
they said that it was unlimited miles and after the 48 months I could keep it for a small $150.00 fee. So they convinced me to sign and after signing everything, I get home with the vehicle and start reading all the fine print and find all these extra charges that shouldnt be there. Also a 12,000 mile limit per year. Another number that they told me was irellevent. "the miles are unlimited". They told me that the service contract which was mandatory was only $15.00 per month, but on the contract it states that the service and maintance contract listed as being $2600.00 over 4 years.
They also claim that they had me sign my wifes name on the title transfer for the trade even though I remember nothing about it. I think they forged it. She is the primary owner of the trade. Im just a co signer. My wife doesnt want to do this deal and refuses to sign. I went to another dealership (-------)and they looked over my contract and explained how I was being ripped off. It was clear to me then what was happening. I was being scammed and being charged almost double for the vehicle and I dont own it.
The other dealer showed me what they could do for me on the same vehicle with the same finance company(Nissan Motor Credit) and I was shocked. I then stated to them that my wifes car which was in her name, was what I was going to trade, but she never signed anything releasing the title to the dealership. Bankston said that I was told that if she didnt agree then the contract was void.
So I took the truck back to the dealer and gave it back to them and told them why and they said they would sue if i didnt bring her car in. They said they didnt even need her signature. Also when I took the vehicle back to NTN the next day after signing and told them I couldnt do it. I handed them the keys and said here it is. i then left with my wife they then returned the truck from there buisiness to my home while I was gone. I came home and there it was sitting in my driveway. I havent drove it but only the 2 hours after signing the contract and thats it. Me and my wife are pregnate with twins and this is the last thing we can afford to happen right now.
