Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I hired Old Country Van Lines to move my possessions from my 3-bedroom in PA to KC, MO area in July, 2018. The contracted movers arrived on July 20, 2018 for the pick up. Immediately the only English speaking person started telling me I had too many boxes/bins that were not listed on my inventory list and if I wanted to take "this item/take item" I needed to give him more cash up front. I refused as this wasn't part of the contract that I signed. I had to give things away to my neghbors as he said they weren't going to put it on the truck. I was furious but half of my possessions were already on their truck. In the beginning, I was told if I went over the inventory list, the price would be adjusted at THE END when my possessions were delivered. Delivery? Oh, that was to be in 7-10 days...didn't happen. I called 3-5 times a week for 3 weeks asking where were my possessions? No one calls you back or they lie and said don't worry everything is in a safe secure locked storage unit. Where's the storage unit? They wouldn't tell me nor would they tell me when I would receive my delivery. It took 5 weeks and they DO NOT, I REPEAT  - THEY DO NOT STAY IN CONTACT with you every step of the way as they promised they would. I received a call 5 minutes before the delivery driver was to show up. He then called back immediately and refused to drive the additional 1/4 mile back my road to my home because it had a small hill/sharp turn. I also explained this sharp turn off my road in the very beginning to the sales manager who stated, "no worries; our drivers are professionals".

This freaking driver had the audacity to ask me for additional $650 in cash right there on the spot to have another truck come come and they would transfer my stuff to that truck. This semi-trailer that these two guys were in were obviously their own semi-trailer as it sat so low to the road, I was shocked it even made it to Missouri - which is why they said they couldn't turn onto my road. It was not a professional semi-trailer that does long haul moving. I had to immediately go rent a Budget Rental Truck and they transferred my possessions to that truck. This was the only way I could get all my earthly possessions away from them.

I did not get the delivery to my home; I did not get the unloading and bringing everything into my home; I did not get them putting my furniture back together. I got nothing that I paid for.

All my furniture was broke/scratched/dented/or had gouges in them. All my bins/boxes were cracked and busted open. My wash machine does not work and was in excellent condition prior to the pick up. My dryer has dents in it. My dining room chairs are all scratched and one was broken. My antique wooden hutch was busted. Lamps were broken. I have so many broken items; dented items; dirty items; boxes were wet at one point because of the large water stains on them.

NOW, they refuse to return my calls. I've sent so many pictures of damaged items to the claims department who now said "he is so busy he doesn't know when he can speak with me". This company is a SCAM, they are so professional upfront when they want the sale but once they get your deposit - no more communication from them. They are not a professional moving company. DO NOT use this company, you will be sorry.
