Beware of Park Place Resort Mobile Home & RV Park!!!

Represented as a 55+ community in which certain rules must be observed. Neither is true. My complaint in particular is about a neighbor (#59-N) in the north Park who may perhaps be 55 yrs, but, who has constantly at her trailer what I presume to be her children, grandchildren, nieces/nephews, etc.,

We're not talking about occasional or quiet visitors. Rather, it has more of the character of a home-based day care; one that runs 24 hours, 7 days a week. Crying babies, who are then slapped, prompting them to scream and cry even louder and longer. Stop by! You may recognize in this ghetto setting a baby gate....At a retiree mobile home park?

The neighbor, Yvonne, parks her car in the alley blocking access to any emergency vehicle that may desperately need access. Her boyfriend and part-time live in is the park's loud, beligerent, and often drunk mexican "maintenance" man, Juan. I say "maintenance" man because I don't ever see him working on anything except speeding around in his park-provided golf cart with an infant in his lap, or, alternately, on draining a couple Budweiser tallboys. Ask Juan a question and if he acknowledges you at all, count on a surly non-resonsive answer.  Anything beyond that and you'll likely be cursed at and threatened.

The astonishing observation of these people for the week is the site of numerous children of varying ages--Yvonne or Juan's family is, apparently, a not-untypical large mexican family--trotting back from the pool. So far so good, I guess, despite the fact that as an old guy I was hoping for some peace..until...I saw that several of the tinier children, wearing nothing but their diapers (dirty?), were soaking wet (the diapers, too). Yuck! Guess I'll just give up going swimming this summer.....

Management knows and does nothing. I know other residents have complained. Waste of breath. No changes. In fact, aside from Juan not playing his car stereo real loud lately, its gotten worse.

Why take my word for it? Come by and see for yourself, or have a local friend come by for you if, dear reader, if you are contemplating a winter visit. Space #59-N. Can't miss it, trust me; imagine the entire town of Lago (the one painted entirely in red) being lifted from the Clint Eastwood movie "High Plains Drifter," and then being set down as a mobile home. One that's full of screaming kids.

There is nothing I can do right now other than help you avoid a bad situation.

God bless you and good luck,

A Concerned Park Place Resident

I too have noticed the practice of people putting diapered babies in swimming pools - not just Mexicans....white trash, and even upscale LA Yiddish girls do it too, in the pools at my upscale 55+ condo.  Even though its posted that diapered children are not allowed in the pool, people think nothing of it.

It is a serious infectious disease risk -  especially for elderly people, a number of which are on medications that are immunosuppressant enough to put them at increased risk for serious infections.  Young children (normally) carry a heavy load of microflora that is of no threat to them but to adults who are not often exposed to them, or to elderly people, this is dangerous.  Swimming pool sanitation systems are not designed to eradicate or suppress the amount of microbial contamination a young child will introduce into the water.  Anybody out there wonder why the "infant swim" at public pools, so trendy 20 years ago has disappeared?  That's why.  Municipalities got into legal problems - even with "hyperchlorination."

I guess you'll have to swim at the Y.  I brought this problem up to my Board and although several other people jumped up and chimed in....the Board just let this issue sorta..blow over.  Oh well.
