Patriot Moving, National Moving Network #1 Scam Artists, RipOffs, Nightmare Company, Horrible Experience, Never Use Them! Miami Florida
How I wish I had found this website before I got suckered in by the smooth talking salesman at this sorry excuse for a company. David Lamondin should win an Academy Award for coming across as the nicest, most trustworthy man on the planet. He had me so fooled, I believed every word - "Moving is one of the most stressful experiences in life and we're going to remove that stress and walk you through this from beginning to end - take away all the problems." HA! Just the beginning of the lies and deception.
"I've set you up with Allied Van Lines." When I heard this, my confidence was complete as Allied is a huge reputable company. The dates were set - Dec. 30 or 31st (I absolutely had to be out by the end of the month). After calling Patriot all that week and being told my file was now turned over to Walter, I asked repeatedly for a contact # to the mover so I could confirm a time, only to be told repeatedly I couldn't have their #, not to worry, they would call me 1-2 hours before pick-up.
On the evening of the 29th, I received 2 messages on my home machine and 2 on my cell, coming in at 7PM and 7:30PM. I was out that evening and didn't get the messages until 8:30PM. I promptly returned the call, only to get a machine. The next morning I called at 7AM, 8AM, 9AM - machine only. At 10AM I finally get a person named Barok with Progressive Moving (with such an accent I could hardly understand him), telling me I was cancelled because they had tried for 2 days to reach me. What lies - they'd tried for 1 day, but now that I see everyone elses testamonials, I see that the "We've been trying to reach you for 2 days" is what the programmed script says. They couldn't pick me up until over the weekend - impossible for me.
When I called Walter at Patriot for help it was like I was hearing a tape recorder - "Your contract says the pick up date is only an estimate, not a guarantee", "The movers tried for 2 days to reach you". No matter how much I pleaded, I got nothing. When I demanded to talk to David, my smooth talking salesman, I was refused - another tactic I see repeated - get the nice guy to sucker you in and once his job is done, you can't talk to him.
I had no choice but to get on the phone and call other companies to pick me up within 24 hours. I was fortunate enough to find one, only because I'm in no rush and my stuff can be stored locally for a month. I'm grateful to the new company and realize now how "lucky" I am to have only lost the $750 deposit and still have my belongings safe and sound. Of course when I call or e-mail asking for my deposit back - they pretty much laugh at me as you can well imagine.
