I recently had a few payday loans (web-based) that I was trying to pay off. I received a text message from this company stating to contact them if I wanted to consolidate my loans and save some money, which I did. MAJOR mistake.
First, they insisted that in order to move forward with their "program" I needed to close my current checking account (in order to keep the current lenders from taking more money) and open a new one. That part made sense but then I had to re-do my direct deposit and utility bills that were directly taken from the "now closed" account, frustrating.
So at that point I faxed the information from each of my payday loan vendors to this consolidation company so they could begin working on a payoff amount.
They said that I would be paying them from that moment forward, in the amount of $183.00 every 2 weeks until I paid the "lower payoff" amount. They insisted that I was making a good decision because they would be saving me almost half of what my oiginal payoff would've costed me. The first payment was on 1/25/13.
These payments continued and things went smoothly for the first month, then the vendors started calling. Payday Support Center informed me that all I needed to do was give the vendors their information and tell them to stop calling me because they were handling it from this point on, which is what I did.....they kept calling.
Eventually the phone calls stopped with the exception of one company, so I felt that some progress was being made.....nope.
The final payment I made to them was on 4/5/13, by the time that payment was made I had paid this company a total of $1098.00.
I called and spoke with Quinn (x7842) and I asked what the next step was in the process because I had not received a call or email from them the ENTIRE process. I was told that I had completed the program and that no further payments would be deducted from my account. She also said that ALL of the vendors had signed the necessary forms in regards to the reduced payoff (they call them Validation letters) and I should not be receiving any further phone calls.....that was a lie. The very next day I received a call at work from one of the vendors, I explained what I was told by Payday Loan Center...they didn't care. Actually, they weren't even calling from the original vendor...they were a collection agency and my outstanding debt was going to be placed on my credit report due to non-payment.
I spoke to the female from the collection agency and expressed my anger and frustration with the "scam" I fell for. She stated that I should contact my bank and dispute all of the ACH withdrawals because they didn't do what they stated they would do and now all of my loans were sent to collection agencies....the bank denied my dispute because I had authorized those withdrawals and that I would need to provide more evidence in order to overturn their decision.
So now here I am, having spent $1098.00 to a company that took the cash and ran. I now have collection agencies demanding money and I'm pretty upset. Not sure how this will pan out but I will be sure to NEVER use a company such as this one in the future.
Do not be scammed by them, they are liars and rarely do you actually get a real person on the phone...unless you're setting up a new account with them, of course.
