it is funny you mention your stereo is also destroyed---like it was the only circuit to go-and what you only cared about---you don't mention your lights wsent out or anything----you were oblivious to the situation being you had to be flagged down-it would not surprise me if you were pumpin the radio which may be another reason for not noticing anything---in any case---sounds to me you got a bullshit stereo in your car------lesson learned-next time don't ghettofyi your car

It is also possible that the damages are not related to the repairs made. The car was equipped with an aftermarket stereo, if the power supply cable was too small to carry the current drawn by the amplifier it could cause overheating of the wire and a fire. There are so many things in a modern vehicle that could fail and cause an electrical fire. I'm not sure how it works in Florida but in other states repair shops should be listed with the DMV and they will investigate any claims of faulty workmanship. As a large company, one would assume that Pep Boys is a registered repair facility. They are in my state.
