I’m really sorry for your troubles. I just imagined myself in your situation. This story is very tragic.
I've read all kinds of stuff about this breeder on the Internet lately. But fortunately for me I have purchased 3 healthy loveable darlings from her. The first one I bought 5 years ago.
I have to say that the genetic disorders are not always parents or breeder’s liability. Nature itself designed in such manner that it tries different variations of genes. Perhaps in hopes that better creation will result. It is how nature becomes filled with diverse variety of plants and animals.
Most successful gene combination continues to thrive while less successful are eliminated. Because of human interference unhealthy pets continue to thrive under loving care of breeders and owners alike. We all applaud to the people who do this for the pets no matter what!
In this case blaming the breeder for genetic mistakes is the same as Down syndrome or any genetically sick child will blame his parents. Any family can have child with genetic disorder from two very healthy parents. That’s been proven long time ago.
Life is not as simple as we think. It doesn’t divide breeders into “good” and “bad”. Any breeder can have his or her dogs produce sick puppy for no reason from time to time.
I know for sure that she is doing everything she is able to for her dogs. She really gives a lot of care. She doesn’t have to, but when the puppy is going to a new home she give free carrier bag, food, vitamins, treats. I have not heard of another breeder doing the same thing. I’m planning on adopting another puppy from her very soon.
I sincerely hope that you live through your tragedy and your life will go on.

If this breeder, Elena Sass supposedly sold me one of the puppies from the poor woman she describes (which you offered and I did not take) then she has provided me with false documentation (registration papers).
Nellie's registration papers specifically say ELENA SASS was the breeder of the dog I purchased. It also shows Chester and Baby Naomi as the parents. These were dogs she posted as her breeders on her former website.
I did not wait over a year and then begin harrassing her. I notified her immediately upon development of symptoms less than five months after I purchased the puppy. All I was provided in return was one excuse and lie after the other... "I am in Russia" "I am trying to get my daughter back" "I will take are of things when I return to US" "I no longer breed" "This is my ex-husband's fault". I still have all the documentation including emails.
It is breeders like Elena Sass that give the whole breeding industry a bad name. BTW, I lost my Nellie in late March of this year....the poor thing just continually declined on a daily basis even with the best care. She would have turned two years on July 15th. Rest in peace Nellie!
Althought her websites are apparently down, i believe she is still selling puppies probably using other internet resources such as breeders.net. If purchasing a puppy in the Somerville, New Jersey area, I would be careful it is not from this breeder.

This lady didn’t adopt a puppy from my dogs family. She adopted one out of 2 rescue 6 month old dogs I had fostered. Both dogs belonged to an older lady who had a stroke. Her family brought both of them for boarding while lady was recovering in a nursing home. However, her condition got worse and she stayed in a nursing home. The boarding charge became so high that family decided that they don’t want the dogs.
I had no previous knowledge what had happened to any of them while they were living with this elderly lady. It is possible that dogs may been neglected or one was hit by the car and end up with neurological problems, I don’t know. Since the dogs weren’t mine the only adoption fee was boarding charge. Dogs had all shots and were healthy for adoption. I haven’t heard from this lady for over a year and all of the sudden she started harassing me with e-mails. I gave her names of the previous owner but it wasn't enough...
