I had got a phone call from Platinum Key Services in April 2007 and they were saying how I had won a grant from the government. They told me that they would send me $10,000.00 and it would be put into my back account and I dont have to pay the money back.

The guy I was talking to was named Jeson Smith and his ID: 1073. He had explained the process to me and said that there was going to be a fee of $299.97 which I will get back in 6 months. It was a one time fee and I would get my grant money on May 15-20 2007.

Before I hung up the phone Jeson said that he was going to send me an e-mail showing me I have registered, so I can keep for my records. I never got that e-mail.

They took out the $299.97 on May 1, 2007. I have the bank statement that shows proof. After I waited for the money to be put into my account, I never saw the $10,000.00, but they sure did take the $299.97 out.

I called the toll free number and nobody ever picked up. I left plenty of messages asking for someone to get back to me and no one ever did. Even if I call today the number is disconnected. I even asked my bank if they could find info. on them and the bank people said that they got the same info. that I have. I even wrote Platinum Key Services a letter asking to call me or e-mail me, but I get no response.

It's been 7 months since this has happened and I would really like my money back.

Looks Like You Were Scammed

#2Consumer Suggestion

Fri, November 02, 2007

You will probably never hear from that company again because it appears you were the victim of a scam. The con is to require you send them money up front. You should never do that. These scammers use the promise of money, normally it's a contest that they tell you that you have won and they ask the one being scammed to send in the tax. This is just a variation. You should report this to your local FBI because they have a Frauds Division that tries to go after these scammers. Best of luck.
