I am the dance teacher that Doug let go. We were going in different directions and so we parted ways. Absolutely nothing like this happened and in my 5 years of working with him I NEVER saw anything inappropriate! This posting is a fabrication that was created to hurt his business and reputation. His school is still going strong, in fact they have expanded, and the school that I was apart of starting is now renting from them... Small world.... I have wonderful memories of my time working with Doug and The Pop Shop, even though we decided to go in seperate says... I wish him all the best and many more years of blessings.

"I worked with Doug through the Pop Shop and had my daughter there for several seasons. I saw both Doug and his teachers in many circumstances, and there was never any inappropriate behavior, my daughter was cared for and trained in a safe and inspiring atmosphere. I frequently stayed at the facility the entire time she was training. She grew as a performer and got some incredible opportunities. There has never been a scandal or report of any inappropriate words or behavior at this School, this is rubbish. I continue to work with Doug on a regular basis as an talent scout and have sent multiple people to him to interview and represent, as well as referring people to the school. I have received nothing but positive reviews and responses. Just this past summer 2014 I had over a dozen kids to Pop Shop camps and they had a wonderful time! Doug is kind, honest and helpful to people looking to break into the industry...

After careful consideration, I have decided to respond to an earlier report making negative comments about me and my business in hopes to better serve the many families that have and are currently participating with my training school.
The report is a fabricated lie crafted by the boyfriend of a former employee intended as a harmful strategy to damage my family business by assaulting my character.
Cleverly orchestrated, the author chose a web site outside the US to avoid tracking, wrote anonymously, and fabricated the entire story before submitting to this posting site – knowing that this site does not permit removal of content once posted.
He also brought a failed legal suit against me and modeled our business structure in attempt to steal the very clients he said left due to this bogus scandal. These were all ineffective and unsuccessful "get even" tactics. As a parent or individual exploring this report, you are invited to check all public records and/or meet with former or present Pop Shop families. You’ll find the charges brought forth by the disgruntled author are indeed false - there are no public charges or complaints to be found.
I am grateful that our business continues to thrive. Not only do we continue to help parents, young adults and children realize their dreams, but my business regularly engages in a number of public school and local government partnerships... none of which would be possible had there been any evidence of scandal or abuse towards children. Background checks are a regular requirement to work with these partnerships and have been for years. Even at my business all instructors must pass similar background check procedures to work. Further, there are cameras in every room providing digital feed to visiting parents and recorded history of class events.
I believe in large part our success in withstanding this horrible attack can be attributed to our serving and caring for children of families interested in the entertainment business for over a decade. And in this case, our reputation simply does speak louder than the misuse of the author’s written word. I know that growing and nurturing a business happens one relationship at a time and treating our families with respect and safety is the only way to build trust and grow a vibrant program.

FYI: The story you are about to read can be found at this link:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/jgroove-studios-jgro/dance/lake-mary-florida-de12e.htm
I did not write the story, but I thought I would re-post it here for obvious reasons.
JGroove Studios owner Jennifer Kolentus has been exposed as a teacher of children during the day, and a member of an erotic sex culture during the night. Several parents have been made aware of pornographic photos and videos of Jennifer engaged in sex acts with multiple men, and that are posted on different Adult dating sites across the internet.
One site in particular is called Adult Friend finder.
Jennifer pages was under the user name: Men4me19.
Although the site has since been removed, photos and videos are still out there on the web.
On this site Jennifer has photos and videos of herself engaged in various sex acts with several different men. Other sites have similar photos and videos of Jennifer in them. Parents have already started the mass exit from this business, pulling their children out of what they feel is a unhealthy environment and unsuitable teacher in Jennifer Kolentus. In addition to the Adult sex sites, Jennifer has been engaged in several other sex related scandals at JGroove over the past year.
The first scandal was when she cheated on her long time boyfriend (and financier of the business) with a dance instructor named Jonathan Prater. The cheating went on until several JGroove students and parents confronted Jennifer and told Mr. Allen what was going on. Did this solve the problem? NO! Jennifer convinced Tyler that the parents and students were lying, and kicked them all out to JGroove. Was that the end of it? NO! Several months later Tyler caught Jennifer and Jonathon in bed together at another JGroove parents house. There was banging on the door and police called. Then Jennifer convinced her other partners that Tyler was crazy and that Tyler needed to be removed from the business. So the new partners set about removed (screwed) Tyler out of his fair share of the business. Tylers investment?? Over $300,0000. GONE! Jennifers plans to screw Tyler out of his money, take over the business, and get a brand new hot shot boyfriend backfired when a few shorts days later Jonathan was busted having sex with one of the JGroove student (a minor). Jonathan wasn't fired for having sex with the minor,, no no,,,that was swept under the rug Jonathan was fired for NOT wanting to have sex with Jennifer anymore. In the end the truth finally came out, Jonathan was fired and went in to hiding (in fear of Tyler), Jennifer ran back to Tyler with a good story about how it was all a big mistake, Tyler believed her as he always does, and all went back to normal at JGroove.. for a while anyway
Until two weeks ago when Tyler caught Jennifer in bed with yet another JGroove dance instructor (who will remain unnamed).
And now this week Jennifer took hot shot producer Jesse Nemitz to the bed.
So after counting up all the men on Adult Friend Finder and adding in the above mentioned two men Jesse Nemitz and the unnamed dance instructor. My count is 10 men in the last 30 days!!! And most of them on the internet for anyone to see.

Jesse Nemitz sex scandal involving business partner, JGroove Studios owner Jennifer Kolentus, is sure to tarnish the squeaky clean image of the artists that he produces for such as Maddi Jane, Carla Cappa, Days Divide, Luis Antonio, Josh Holiday and others.
Jesse Nemitz new business partner and weekend fling, JGroove Studios owner Jennifer Kolentus, was exposed for being involved in some online pornographic web sites where Jennifer, after teaching children all day, would solicit multiple men for group sex parties and in turn would be photographed and videotaped for all of the participants viewing pleasure. Some of Jennifers x-rated photos and videos eventually made their way to the web and were inevitably discovered by some parents of students that attends JGroove Studios, located in Lake Mary, Florida. This sex scandal exploded last week as Jesse was in Lake Mary, FL attending a JGroove Studios / Jesse Nemitz weekend event. This latest scandal has parents running to pull their children out of JGroove Studios and the business is rumored to be closing its doors in the near future. What will happen to Jesse Nemitz business and reputation remains to be seen.
Ive did some research on JGroove Studios and found that barring the sexual misconduct that seems to plague the business, JGroove appeared to be quite impressive. It is a training academy for children that want to sing, dance, act and perform. Regardless of JGrooves impressiveness, the business is plagued with drug related and sexual misconduct scandals; with most if not all of the scandals involving the owner Jennifer Kolentus. It appears that Jennifer has a history of partying with her students and sleeping with her employees, the latest being Mr. Jesse Nemitz himself. It is unclear at this time if Jesse Nemitz was helping to produce or is actually staring in any of Jennifers ex-rated videos.
Why a seemingly talented producer such as Jesse Nemitz would expose his business and clients reputations to something as heinous as internet porn is m mindbogglingly. If I were Maddi Jane or any of his clientele I would look for a new producer fast. There are plenty of talented producers in this town that aren't messed up in this kind of stuff.
You can see the Jennifer Kolentus x-rated photos and videos for yourself by going online and searching for them. But don't look to hard, you really don't want to see them!!

I can take each thing that you are accusing Doug of and reply with the truth of the matter, however, I don't think I need to at this point. Your accusations couldn't be further from the truth and you know it. Nevertheless, perception is everything.
Though this original report was written very long ago from "a very disrespectful, dishonorable, disgruntled employee" who actually lied and coerced the "few" families to leave the Pop Shop for "a better deal". The proof is in the pudding. Which company is being blessed in so many ways it is unbelievable? God takes care of those who walk in the truth.
Maybe you should come clean with the truth and apologize for trying to destroy a family who tried to help you through your most difficult times. I've known both of you for a very long time. Come clean so the windows of heaven can open up for you as well. There is enough blessings to go around for everyone without using hate and lies to get your way.
You know this, your heart knows this, and so do those that left with you.
Praying for your healing and peace.
A Very Blessed Parent

I've known Doug Bailey for over 15 years. I was talent for his modeling agency years ago. I worked briefly for the agency and quit when I found a better paying job. Doug's dad and Doug were always honest.
My step daughter decided to join Popshop. What they promised were singing, dancing and acting classes and performances that the students do throughout Central Florida. What they delivered were singing, dancing and acting classes and performances throughout Central Florida. Most of the performances were at places that housed kids at risk or kids with disabilities. So the performances had a purpose and the kids were performing to make a difference.
Anything else negative that is claimed on this site is a lie. Doug is a great person. You can trust your kids with him, his wife, and HIS CHILDREN and the people that work for him. I was at one of their performances and saw his instructors and how they communicated with all the students. They were all great. They are all extremely positive and they treated the kids with respect.
Your kids will benefit from the experience, whether you have an expectation that they will become stars or not. You should look at what your expectations are before you look into any classes.
End of story. Stop telling lies and hiding behind anonymous internet posts.

To the author of the above "Doug Bailey is an honest man who puts the kids at the Pop Shop first". Or should I just say.. to Doug Bailey, because Doug Bailey himself wrote that rebuttal. Doug, you are trying to sell people a product that you can not deliver! All of the teachers that you have listed on your site that no longer work at Pop Shop need to be REMOVED from your site! Its called FALSE advertising! These teachers HATE you because of the dirty person that you have revealed yourself to be. If you are so wonderful as you say, and if your students and their parents "love and admire" you so much; WHY did 20 families walk out on you? hmmm?
To be clear - Let me ask YOU that question again and remember that I am using your words that you have written in your rebuttal: If the above scandal isn't true; and if your students and their parents "love and admire" you so much, THEN WHY DID 20+ FAMILIES WALK OUT ON YOU all at the same time? They didn't leave on good terms Doug,
To be clear - Why are EVERY one of those students still plastered all over your web site? They left the Pop Shop disgusted in only one person... and that person was YOU... Doug Bailey, They don't have a single problem with any of the Pop Shop teachers. They are disgusted in YOU Doug Bailey because of what you did, and how you act!
To be clear - Why do you still advertise all of the teachers on your web site as a selling point to potential new parents and students when these teachers not only don't work at the POP Shop any longer, they cant stand you and would never set foot in the pop shop again. These were all very talented people that realized what a scam you were running and chose to not participate in the scam. These teachers now work at your competitors facilities!!?? This is called false advertising! Remove these teachers from your web site.
To be clear - Why do you put groups and institutions on your web site that the Pop Shop has no affiliation with. High School Musical? Radio Disney? You have NO affiliation with these institutions! That's false advertising!
To be clear - Why is it only YOU and your daughter that go to casting calls? Why don't you let the rest of your students know about the casting calls? That is why they are there right? To learn to sing dance and act? To go to casting calls and get actual paying work? so why not let them know about these paying gigs?
Doug Bailey is a fraud!

I am the spouse of someone who is currently working at the Pop Shop.
I wanted to write this rebuttal because I know parents are looking at this site, bewildered by what they are reading.
I just want you to know, this information on this site is false.
If you want proof, come to the Pop Shop yourself and speak to Doug, his wife Kim, current teachers, and current students.
I've never seen a group of students love and admire someone as much as they do with Doug.
Each student is like family to him. Not only does the Pop Shop train students, but they encourage them to be great people in life. They offer support to students when they need help or just want to talk. The students feel comfortable enough in opening up to these adults because each teacher at the Pop Shop is kind, compassionate and loving.
Doug did not lose half his students because of "sexual misconduct", rather, he lost them because a staff member left and they followed that person to their dance studio. This ex-staff member is trying to destroy the Pop Shop and destroy Doug Bailey's reputation with false information and facts. This person won't succeed. There are too many people who know the real truth about this matter.
Through the years, Doug has grown in his faith and relationship with God, and because of this the Pop Shop has grown to be a reputable place with Christian teachers. They don't rub their religion in anyone's face. Any statements of the Pop Shop kicking students out because they are not Christians is FALSE! You don't have to be a Christian to be in the Pop Shop.
The Pop Shop website has kept previous teachers on the website because it wants to give credit to the teachers who have made an impact to the school since the beginning. Yes, half of those teachers don't teach there anymore. This is not an unknown fact.
Kelly Rutherford and Christian Normandia are still dance teachers at the Pop Shop, and they are phenomenal dancers with positive attitudes. All of the teachers at the Pop Shop have been trained in their field of expertise and know what they are doing. The only staff members that "hate" Doug Bailey are those that are trying to destroy this company.
The Pop Shop is a blessing to so many families in the Central Florida community. Some students travel hours just to be taught at the Pop Shop. I ask that you meet Doug and his team, and the truth will be revealed to you.

Update to report:
Doug Bailey punishes students when they decide to scale back on his worthless lessons. Its very simple; you pay $200 to $300 per month for useless voice lessons, or you child will not be allowed to perform in any shows. Not that the Pop Shop even has a show where kids sing and dance anymore. After this recent massive student walk out, the Pop Shop doesn't have a kids group that performs live shows. In fact the Pop shop doesn't even have a dancing program. The dance instructors keep quitting on him due to the fact that Doug Bailey will not pay them! The parents pay money for shows, but they don't get what they pay for. The Pop Shop is a fraud!
Doug Bailey and the Pop Shop always dangle the carrot promising students acting and print jobs when if fact they almost NEVER get work from him. Because the Pop Shop was doing so poorly, Doug became an agent for Bicoastal Talent (another crappy scam of a company). Doug only uses Bicoastal Talent to get new students for his fraudulent school and never gets any student work from Bicoastal.
After attending the Pop Shop for a few months, most parents and students become very dissatisfied with Doug Bailey and the Pop Shop's lack of effort in regards to providing their children REAL acting and dancing lessons. DO NOT sign a contract with this man. He is a fraud and a predator.
Look at the Pop Shops web site: ITS ALL A SCAM! Almost none of the staff that Doug Bailey says work at the Pop Shop actually does work at the pop shop:
Staff:
Kim Bailey - Never works there
Mark Izzo - Doesn't work at Pop Shop and hates Doug Bailey
Christian Normandia - Doesn't work there anymore.
Kelly Rutherford - Doesn't work there anymore.
Fernando Orroyo - Doesn't work there anymore.
Jennifer Kolentus - Doesn't work there anymore and HATES Doug Bailey.
Special Events:
Shelly Burch - Doesn't work there
Will DeVry - Doesn't work there
Anne Hering - Doesn't work there
Chris Jorie - Doesn't work there
Twilla Barnett - Doesn't work there and hates Doug Bailey
What does this tell you? It tells you that Doug Bailey is a fraud, and his school the Pop Shop is a fraud!
