Popular Mechanics magazine stored my credit card information for just under a year and entered a charge for an exhorbitant amount ($24) for a subscription that i did not order nor authorize.

 

I filed an online complaint about this, asked how they authorized such a thing and where did they get my credit card number.

 

Then did not respond.  I tried to call them but it took 2 days before i found a phone number.  person on the other end refused to answer any questions about their illegal use of my credit card, the storage of my credit card info, very rude, tried to sell me an extended subscription, i said no, she then said my acct would be credited and hung up on me.

 

This is intentional deceit and probably fraudulent theft of funds through my credit card.  i did like the magazine but will have notlhing more to do with this sort of business model.
