Prime Agency Caution- Prime Agency Shipping is a scam , Internet
Beware! We are a California Corportaion that receives shipments from Chinese suppliers on a regular basis. We have received 2 shipments that were handled by Prime Agency, and both were a complete rip-off. No longer will we allow shipments to be handled by Prime Agency.
On both shipments, the shipments were booked by our Chinese supplier as "Freight Prepaid", and this was stamped on the Bill Of Lading, etc. What Prime does, is to entice Chinese suppliers to arrange shipping with them, by offering low prices, only to tack on unallowed and illegal (per their Tariff) charges at the destination.
Effectively, Prime Agency holds their customers hostage, by not releassing the goods until all their charges are paid, regardless of how rediclious they are.
For example, on a recent purchase of stainless steel plates, a reputable shipping company would have charged the following fees at the destination, which in this case was Los Angeles:
Handling Charge $65.00; Port Security $25.00; Pier Pass Fee $19.44; Clean Truck Fee $12.96; Total: $122.40.
However, for the same shipment, handled by Prime Agency, they charge:
Devanning $39.63; Pierpass $15.85, Port Security $25.00, GRI/CTF $15.85; Exam Fee $35.00; THC $98.75; AMS/ISF Fee $60; DOC $65; Total = $355.08
Why do they do this? Because they can. The only way to avoid this situation is to REFUSE shipments that use Prime Agency as the shipping company.
