I received a cashier's check for 985.12 with a letter telling me I won $ 8,00.00. I was leary about this & when I called the phone # provided, the girl, Lexy Wilberman, was very convincing. She said I got entered in a drawing by giving either my phone number or postal code at the check out of some popular retailers (i.e Walmart, Target, Home Depot). I, unfortunately, fell for her speal and deposited the cashier's check which looked very real. After depositing it, I did a little research on this & found out this is FRAUD. She, Lexy, wanted me to bring 810.00 + an extra 100 (for his fees) to a local tax agent to pay the taxes so she could release the balance, 7,014.88. Had I been dumb enough to do this I would have been out 910.00 of MY money. The cashier's check was returned as insufficient funds & my bank charged me for the returned check. So I am out 60.00 in fees from my bank but it's better than 910.00! DO NOT deposit any cashier's check from PRIME MARKETING or any other company saying you have to pay taxes on it first. Lexy was very pushy about paying the taxes NO later than Monday, check received Friday, returned as insufficient funds on Wednesday. Thank the Lord I did not pay those taxes.
Check was drawn on: Coppermark Bank in OK / TX, the phone number you're supposed to call - it's a CELL PHONE, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU PAY ANYONE ANYTHING, and remember if it's too good to be true - it probably is!
