I took my Mitsubishi eclipse on March 10th and had my vehicle towed to them that night to have a timing belt replaced. They immediately called and said that they broke the timing cover and it had to be replaced, no dealers had one in stock. I was finally able to track one down at a junk yard, which costed me sixty dollars.
I called the dealer ship and they said it is possible that it would get broke if they did not remove it with finess. They then said I needed a head job that my valves were leaking after I purchased a timing belt kit, they said "we did it back words, we should have checked the valves first". The next day they called and said they would do a timing belt replacement for 900$ If I bought all the parts.
I went and picked the head up and noticed that I only had fourteen parts rather sixteen so I went back up there and the same guy told me that it will cause the engine not to run right if they are removed, I said I didn't take them out, I found the missing two still in the head while he was standing there, I followed him inside and that guy said "add it to the bill"
I purchased all the parts and took it to them the next day. They were persistent that I purchased a new head, and seemed upset that I chose to have it rebuilt as I found it to be cheaper to have my head rebuilt, so I had it taken to a reputable head shop on 3/09 which completed the job within two days. I called and asked about my vehicle four days later only to be told that they are busy and have a lot of cars, every three days I would call only to be told the same thing. I just agreed, and said thank you.
My friend went by there and said your window is down, and it's gonna rain, I called three times, once every day, I was told "they would roll it up" then the second day they said they said they "would put it in the garage" which never happened. The next day it's raining ago day and my window is left down and my entire car is soaked and now I have battery lights on.
I would go by there every day to take my grandmother to work and my car would consistently sit outside. Finally today, March 26th I called to check on it and they said it was completed. I went and picked the car up and there is another car that is exactly the same as mine that had been owned by the employee.
Once I got the car home I noticed it was not running right, I found the vacume lines just were plugged up rather then connected to the proper locations. I then noticed that it was missing a bracket or some piece that should have been there so I took it back up there and they said we were working on two cars at the same time and didn't know where it went.
They went inside and got the bracket and put it in then fixed the vacuum lines that I pointed out that were "capped". I then noticed my alarm horn which had been installed since I purchased the car, I asked if they would bolt it back up and he then got irritate abd told me "DOES THAT CONNECT TO THE ENGINE?" "DOES THAT CONNECT TO THE ENGINE?" I said no, but it had been on there for years.
He said we only took apart the engine, that goes to the firewall, we didn't touch it! He said "If you want you can talk to my manager but he will tell you to get the f**k out of here." I said yeah, I would like to talk to him, he goes in the back, comes out and said "he is busy with customers, I said "no problem", I will wait. The manager "supposedly" congress out on his cell phone and said "YOU GABE BEEN A LITTLE B****** SINCE YOU COME HERE"!! I replied no I haven't, all I asked was that you roll my windows up as it sit in the parking lot before it rained. I called three times, once I was told "they would roll it up" then the second day they said they said they "would put it in the garage" which never happened.
Nate, the manger supposedly said YOU B****** GET THE DUCK OUT OF HERE" I said fine, I'm calling channel 3 news and filing complaint.
On the way to pick my grandma up today for work I drove by there and noticed they have the same car that I have which was there when I went to look at the timing belt cover.
So I called the engine shop who rebuilt my head if there is any way I could be sure they put the head I just had rebuilt on my car rather then swapping the head of the employees car which happens to be the exact same. They told me that unless they used carb cleaner we wrote your name on the front or back of the head, and I looked when
"I got home and cannot find my name."
I suspect that they put the new rebuilt head on the employees car and put his on mine. I have not said anything to Professional Muffler about this as the guys who rebuilt it said they could only tell if everything is taken apart again. The reason I think they did this I'd the time it took them and not noticing that car in the lot at the same time my car was not in the lot.
They have a sign that says they are not responsible for cars in the lot, yet they leave my window down for three days while it's pouring rain all day, I didn't say nothing not wanting to upset them. They plugged the vacuum lines and now my check engine light is on and my battery light now as well...
