I completed a promotion for Promomodels.com. Upon promotion completion I submitted required paper work to recieve compensation. After waiting the 60 days the contract allows them to compensate me and some follow up on my part, January 21 I recieve this e-mail

"Hi, First of all I want to say thank you for your patience. I just wanted to let you know where everything stands. This month has been very hectic due to the holiday break, catching up from before then, and having to get out over 10,000 1099s by January 31st. I want you to know that we have not forgotten about the event you worked for us and we understand that payment is due shortly. Please be as patient with us as you possibly can as we are working our hardest to get everything caught up and get tax forms out on time. You will receive an email when your check goes out. Make sure to add my email address to your Anti-Spam filter to ensure you get this (Spam filters like the word promo in our email and block us all the time J).

Again, I do not have an exact date as to when you can expect your check but know that we are working our hardest and thank you SO much for your patience. All inquires about checks can be made to me, not your account executive as I see when checks go out. Thanks again and late Happy New Years! J We appreciate you and your hard work!

It is now February 20, this contract is 40 days past due.... Lauren has finally received my calls or e-mails after two weeks of trying to contact her and all she says is I need to wait till the 1099 situation is wrapped up. I have still not been compensated. I am filing with small claims court and posting daily on Craigslist this situation. I will also be contacting their client Essilor Eye Care to inform them of this very unprofessional business practice. With any luck Essilor Eye Care will drop them as well.

Unfortunately Haunting Ex-Employees

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, December 10, 2008

I am a former employee and unfortunately these reports have followed me from this past job. Please do not hold this against ex-employees as we are not part of the corporation that is involved in this. Now I am getting calls at my new place of employment. Those of us that have left do not have anything to do with this company so please don't stalk us. We left for a reason, please don't haunt us. Thank you! Lauren

Promo Models - I haven't been paid either

I have had the same experience as a few people have now explained on here. I'm trying to file a Wage Claim with the California Labor Board but am now thinking of gathering all the people that haven't been paid and filing a class action lawsuite against this company. If you've not been paid either and are still waiting for wages unpaid, please contact me and let's see if we can't stop this company all together!
