I am a senior Citizen who after 4 months in hospitals and rehab centers came home only to realize that I could no longer us my bathtub to shower. I called and had a Re-Bath salesperson come out from the Troy location. She wrote up a proposal to have the tub removed and a larger liner put in and told me I would no longer have to worry when I shower. I was told my floor tile would have to be cut to accommodate the new liner as it would be wider than the tub and also would be even with the new wall material. I requested two grab bars for safety. The cost of doing this seemed expensive, but I knew I had to do something, so I took a loan for the required amount as I am on a fixed income. I waited for about 5 weeks for the installation to get started. Upon arrival of the installer I was told the wall tile would not be removed, so I called Re-bath and spoke to the sale representative who was not only rude, but insulting, saying how could anyone not grasp this concept. The installer explained that the rep should not have told me that. I mentioned the floor tile being cut and he said it was no problem doing it and both the owner and installer assured me the end result would make me feel at ease and not to worry.
I let them start the work, which took about 8 hours and after completion was told not to use it for 12 to 16 hours. I was shocked to see that the liner was smaller than the tub. The next day I tried to use it, only to find the inside dimensions were one inch smaller than what my tub dimension was. I have less room to shower and do not have the dimensions that the contract states. The grab bars are smooth and slippery as my hands slip right off of them. After many phone conversations with the owner I realized I was being handled and was at a loss to resolve anything with them as they were argumentative and kept diverting from the issues I had. I have made complaints with the Re-Bath corporate headquarters who were also no help to me. The BBB has been contacted and without any resolution as they used their attorney to respond by vilifying me and lying about what transpired. I Now have to take this to court as the owner's of Re-Bath in Troy have caused me Grief, anxiety and daily stress all because they would not do what they were paid to do or be willing to put in the correct liner. This is an extremely expensive conversion if you were to use them. Consumers can make up their own mind, but I would advise anyone needing this kind of work done to research many review sites and do your homework so you do not have to live with the mess I now have. Based on my experience with them, I find them to have lied to me, falsely accused me of not understanding things when I had my son with me as a witness to these events and everything the salesperson told us.
They took my money and show no remorse for their crooked business practice. I was also told I would be sued for slander for telling about this. They ask me to take down my reviews and they would give me a partial refund. Months later and attorney fees and I have not received anything but more grief and lies from them. People need to be warned about what they did to me, as it could happen to someone else. They are overpriced and do NOT install what was promised!
