Readers Digest Lotto sent me a check fo 2,843.58 wanting me to deposit in the account claiming I was a winner of a lotto drawing for 152.000.00 Vancover Washington
I received a letter informing me of the readers digest lotto drawing held on Feb 3rd 2009. It said I was approved for a lump sum pay out for $152.000.00 however the catch was a check that was written on Citibank (South Dakota ) for $2,843.58. I was to call a number and verify my claim before depositing in to my bank account. The letter looked pretty official and the check looked real to. I believe this is a scam and not real at all.
The letter had a few spelling mistakes as well as it said the enclosed was check for $ 2,921.91. When actually the check was for a different amount. Then I did some research I found this same exact letter posted on this website using the exact same lotto numbers. Also the address on the letter head is home for sale in Vancover. These people are also using the CFO of Readers Digest along with his picture congratulating me on my winnings.
I believe that Readers Digest needs to contacted as well to let know that this scam is being circulated. I am wise to these types of scams, and the old saying "If it is to good to be true then it probably isn't". I sincerely hope no one falls for this and loses their money. I know times are hard but there has got to be a better way then to scam people. These scam artists wouldn't have gotten much from me anyway because I have nothing. I hope they get caught and get what they truly deserve.
