I ordered from www.lienfax.com (also known as Rev Holdings, LLC) a lien search report for $22.90 for the one property that I purchased. Rev Holdings LLC charged me twice (a total of $45.80) for the same report and are now trying to claim that I ordered two reports on the same property. Why I would order and pay for two reports for the same property (when I can xerox the one report for free) is a mystery to anyone with even half a brain.

Furthermore, it was only after an exchange of several e-mails with the owner of Rev Holdings, LLC that he claimed that I ordered two reports (prior to that the owner was expressing his interest in resolving the matter).

Results of Our Internal Investigation in Regards to This Matter

Fri, June 29, 2007

Our Support Team has investigated this matter and found the claims made by this consumer have no factual basis and are an attempt to avoid paying for our services. The consumer claims to have been charged twice for a Lienfax Report. However, our system makes no seach queries until prompted by a user on our site. Further, since our site processes all transactions through Paypal, we do not receive the users' credit card information nor are credit card number stored on our server. Therefore, in order for an order to be placed at Lienfax.Com, the user must initiate the order, enter a valid card number, and then generate their Lienfax report, in that order. The only way for a card to be charged twice is for a consumer to enter the card information more than once. That is a feature of Paypal that is designed to protect the consumer from fraud and/or accidential overcharges. Secondly, our site is linked to several data providers through an XML link. An XML link is simply a program that allows one site to connect to a database on a different site and retrieve information. After reviewing the logs from our XML files, it is clear that this consumer initiated 2 requests on our site, 5 minutes apart. There is no way that our system would arbitrarily perform a second search on a property without being prompted to do so by the user. Thirdly, we feel that the false and inappropriate comments posted by this consumer to this forum are so grossly inappropriate that we refuse to dignify or validate them with a response. This consumer has insulted our company and most importantly all American businesses by claiming in his intitial email to us: "The sad reality that I learned soon after moving to this country is that most businesses here are dishonest - Andrew, CPA (Licensed in Florida)" We have to disagree with Andrew and feel that America is the greatest country in the world and that American businesses are the template that businesses in other countries attempt to duplicate. Andrew has insulted our business, our country, and our owner, who is been lauded as an innovator in the real estate industry for over 10 years. This is why we at Lienfax.Com have done all in our power to refute the claims made by and are glad to have been given the opportunity to defend this claim in this forum. Sincerely, Lienfax Support Team

Response to 2nd Request For Refund

#3UPDATE Employee

Fri, June 29, 2007

This consumer, as is evident by the grossly inappropriate comments he has posted to this well-respected forum, is clearly not attempting to seek justice for himself or others, but simply attempting to avoid paying for a service that he voluntary agreed to purchase. Lienfax.Com is a well run, reputable company with an excellent record with our vendors, customers, and credit card processor. This consumer was informed via email and regular U.S. mail on 6/27/2007 that the refund process is not under our control. This consumer choose to ignore our Terms of Use and our Money Back Guarantee that are clearly listed on our site. He instead chose to file a claim directly with American Express, which means that matter is now in the hands of Paypal, who is in the process of reviewing this claim. As is their policy, Paypal has frozen the funds in our account from this transaction pending their review of this claim, and we have made no objections to Paypal's policy nor attempted to be uncooperative in any way. Consumers who visit Lienfax.Com are ensured by our use of Paypal that we are committed to a positive customer experience and, should there be any problems, we have chosen the largest and most secure processor of online transactions in the world to see that our customers needs are met. Sincerely, Lienfax Customer Support Team

Repeated Requests for Refund of Duplicate Charge

#4Author of original report

Wed, June 27, 2007

I have asked repeatedly for a refund of the duplicate charge. Instead I get offensive e-mails from Kevin Ramsey the managing partner of Rev Holdings LLC (aka Lienfax.com) in which Kevin turns my complaint about this over-charge into a personal mission on his part to seek revenge against those with money by overcharing them, as can be seen in the quote from his e-mail below: "You live in NY, you have an American Express card, that means that you have some money somewhere or at least a good credit rating. Nothing would make me happier than to ruin it." (Kevin Ramsey, managing partner, Rev Holdings, LLC aka Lienfax.com) Ironically, Kevin then accuses me of insulting him and states that I must have a small p***s, as can be seen in the quote from his e-mail below: "people who insult other people constantly are usually compensating for a small p***s" (Kevin Ramsey, managing partner, Rev Holdings, LLC aka Lienfax.com) Obviously, it is clear from the above that Rev Holdings LLC (aka Lienfax.com) is a disreputable company owned and operated by a very unprofessional and crude individual who sends obscene e-mails to customers with profane language. The claim by Rev Holdings LLC (aka Lienfax.com) that I ordered two reports is outrageous since the report that I ordered was on ONE property. It's like ordering a meal in a restaurant and then when it appears twice on your credit card statement the restaurant tries to claim that you ate the meal twice ! Furthermore, the fact that I didn't receive any e-mails at the time that I purchased the report (as Kevin claims that his "sophisticated" software issues automatically when a customer purchases a report) is further evidence that something went wrong with the software during my purchase. Although the dollar amount in question is small in my case, who knows how many other people have been ripped off and for how much. I believe that its everybody's civic duty to warn others of fraud because I know that I certainly read other peoples opinions when I purchase a product or service.

Rebuttal to Consumer Complaint - REV Holdings, LLC

This consumer order a Lienfax Report on 4/17/2007. According to our system and Paypal records, two reports were ordered and paid for. We later were contacted by Paypal and advised that a chargeback had been initiated by this consumer. It is our experience after dealing with thousands of customers worldwide that when a consumer has a legitimate issue with one of our products, they almost always contact us directly and the matter is resolved. However, when a consumer is attempting to scam us out of paying for a report, they almost always contact their card issuer, never attempting to resolve the matter directly with Lienfax.Com. This is a signal to us that the consumer never had any intention of paying for the valuable data purchased at our site. We have offered this consumer the opportunity to provide us with copies of confirmation emails from our system, which would prove if we are at fault. We have offered a full refund for the alledged "overcharge" if we conclude we are at fault, however this consumer instead has opted to contact Dateline NBC and the Attorney General (over a $22.90 charge). It is our belief, based on previous experience and our contact with this consumer, that he is in fact the party attempting to commit fraud. Further, it clearly states on our site all refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the original purchase.
