RRC is supposed to be a legitimate collection agency in Tennessee. They are allegedly licensed by the Tennessee Collection Service Board of the Deptartment of Commerce & Insurance, yet their permit is a North Carolina Deptartment of Insurance Permit #4523!!While speaking with them over the past two days about false charges, they could not explain that discrepancy nor had no knowledge of the address for the TN Board to file a complaint.I was told to file the complaint to them. My complaint with RRC began with a hospitalization in Oct 2013 at Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport TN.At the time of the hospitalization I had Humana Insurance through Medicare.Due to a misdiagnosis,I intended to consult a lawyer. I never had the opportunity to do so.I didn't pay my colas for the stay so it was turned over to RRC.I began paying RRC in Feb 2014 on the colas which was less than $1000.I paid them online & by check & had it paid down to less than $250.Then earlier this year,RRC added about $800 to my account without any explanation. I contacted RRC & Humana. My case was placed under review. I never heard from either again. In Aug I received a bill from RRC for $4617!I do not owe it.It is what Humana didn't pay Indian Path Hospital due to improper documentation of services. Humana is sending me an explanation of these charges along with documentation that I don't owe this amount so I can send it to RRC but it will take about 30 days to receive it. I contacted RRC & explained this & they wanted me to mail it today. The staff hung up on me yesterday when I requested that they contact Humana directly.Obviously RRC is a company that bills consumers any amount they wish, they don't keep track of payments made, they probably are illegally operating under an out of state license, and they don't research as to whether or not the consumer owes the bills. They also report these false charges to our credit reports. It is not right!!!!
