Does a negative response sign up constitute Customer service? You never addressed your SUM network overcharges, that's right as you told me, SUM allows you to charge whatever you want, so you do, more customer service.
Lets talk about you not recognizing your employes union, your credit union was built on a unions back. Your officers are greedy, double talking scum.
You could do better hiding your money in a mattress than giving a dime to the river works credit union.

As long as any "service" that can render a fee is given choice..and/or consent..there should be no issue..
On the contrary..any services that can render a fee without the choice/knowledge/consent of the consumer...can be subject to consideration as a legitimate ripoff.
As far as credit unions versus banks..many people do assume that all credit unions are better then all banks...but to wit if you read through these reports..you will find not all institutions are the same...but they due tend to follow each others policy changes. The key is to know the right questions to ask BEFORE you open an account..otherwise you subject yourself to any tactics the institution sees fit to take you money..Caveat emptor aka buyer beware.
Good news for the consumers is tons of complaints, Congress and pending lawsuits are putting enough pressure on the banks regarding excessive fees and many are voluntarily changing some policies..it's all about fairness and I am glad people are finally waking up.

I thought Credit Unions were supposed to be all Pro-Customer, at least that is what a lot of people want you to believe.
But even this one I have to admit is original in the fees that are charged, and one that I don't think banks have caught onto yet. Charging almost $2 to "protect" account holders against Identity Theft. I wonder what that includes.
The only law is that they must disclose to you any changes in the terms of your account. Now, there are people who want banks(and I imagine Credit Unions) to require people to "opt-in" to certain changes. And there are some policies that banks are going to start requiring people to opt-in to.
Of course we have seen examples of how well this "opt-in" concept works. After all search this sites and see how many reports you see on the free credit report sites. They disclose right on their home page that by getting your report you are enrolling in credit monitoring. Yet people still complain that they had no idea they were going to be charged.
Now, as to your second issue. If you are sure you are going to a SUM Network ATM and are being charged you need to dispute this with your credit union. It is generally best to go in to the branch and talk to the Branch Manager, rather than trying to talk to Customer (no)Service over the phone. If you have some proof that it is a SUM network(such as a photo of the ATM) that may help.
