After months of delays , and questionable Business Practices, R.M. Construction Company and its owner Robert M. Coats has PAID Precision Elevator Services in FULL. R.M. Coats Construction was involved with questionable Business practices by lending out their Construction License to a Keith Lampley and a Donald Pippin. These two individuals entered into agreement with R.M. Coats Construction and Robert M. Coats directly to use R.M. Coats Business License in a project both Lampley & Pippin were getting involved with. Directly and indirectly R.M. Coats sat in the background hoping to obtain some revenue from Lampley & Pippin efforts by doing nothing other than giving Lampley & Pippin the ok to use his license. Precision Elevator was hired on the authorization of Lampley & Pippin to install an ELEVATOR at the project sit. The order to commence work came in on R.M. Coats Construction stationary letterhead and signed by Pippin & Lampley on two seperate faxes authorizing the commencement of the installation. Precision Elevator completed the job and subsequently billed R.M. Coats Construction.
It was later established that Lampley opened a Bank Account under R.M. Coats credential and subsequently obtained DRAWS from the Client / Bank then deposited said draws into the account and CLEARED the draws. Within weeks Lampley dissappeared with the draws, leaving both Precision Elevator $12,500.00 in the hole and R.M. Coats in serious trouble.
It was later established that R.M. Coats was about to be sued by the homeowner for not completing the project. Precision Elevator Service continued to bill R.M. Coats Construction company the outstanding amount due Precision Elevator Services.
According to our investigation, Robert Coats owner of R.M. Construction Company was FORCED to go back to the homeowners site and complete the job that Kaith Lampley walked off of and walked away with money that was destined for both Precision Elevator Services and R.M. Construction.
It was later establish that letters were written to The Attoprney General in Tallahassee, The County District Attorney, The FDLE in Tallahasse, The Department of Financial Regulations in connect with this situation.
It was later established that Robert M. Coats did in fact correct the construction project on his own time and with his own money, and in addition PRECEISION ELEVATOR SERVIC was later PAID IN FULL by R.M. Coats Construction Company and Robert M. Coats directly. This was done to avoid potential lawsuits and Criminal inquiries by the State & Local authorities.
Robert M. Coats and R.M. Coats Construction has RESOLVED the debt with Precision Elevator. The case is marked Closed..... however...
Additional input: Although the case is marked CLOSED, it must be rembered that none of this would have taken place if not for R.M.Coats Construction Company and Robert M. Coats owner of the company looking to make a quick buck with little ewffort. According to our investigation, you can not under the LAW loan out your business licenses to any other party. Directly or indirectly as the case may have been, greed took over and the theory of making a QUICK BUCK by loaning out your BUSINESS LICENSE was created by Robert Coats directly. Although this case is marked CLOSED, it leaves the thought in mind to wonder how many times was it done prior to this situation ? It leaves one to wonder is this done throughout the construcxtion industry- whereby licenses are loaned out to obtain financial rewardas by others using your permits ? The bottom line is if you are involved with questionable business practices and create your own problem, you have nobody to blame but yourself for any reprocussions coming down the road after you.
R.M. Coats Construction Company is FREE of any Financial Responsibilities to Precision Elevator Services of Lutz, Florida, but one has to ask oneself... what else has gone on in the past that hasn't been found out to be Highly Questionable. None the less, anyone doing business with any company should do a DUE DILIGENCE in checking the company out in COURT RECORDS for previous LAWSUITES, or due your DUE DILIGENCE in search Ripoff.com, or other websites as well as with the CLERK OF THE COURT in the County of the Contractor to see if any legal proceedings have ever been filed against that company. Failure to do this may result in your getting yourself into a legal situation down the road, if only you would have spent the time and did your homework. Failure to do so will place the Blame squarly on " your shoulder " and nobody elses's.
This matter is Closed... but not forgotten.
