Rockcliffe Financial Group Frank Portino is pretty slick! Hartford Connecticut
I too was approached, via telephone, by this man on January 7, 2008. His offer was the same, $5000 for three years, 8.50% but, because of my "credit score" the details would involve an upfront fee equal to 5 payments, or $787.50. He was pretty adamant about my having my attorney and/or financial person review the "documents" before signing and reiterated several times that I should not send ANY money until after the documents were sent back.
Having been married to a Police Detective for 26 years prior to my divorce, I have developed a nasty habit of "suspecting" people, sometimes to an extreme, but in this case, my instincts paid off.
First off, Frank Portino, indicated that my credit was "horrible", which I know it is not. I always receive alerts when an inquiry goes against my credit file and I had received none. I then called the monitoring service and they confirmed that no inquires had been made. So how is it that Frank has information about my credit history? I tried to find a website for his "business" and found none. I tried calling customer service, no response. I called Hartford directory assistance, no such listing. I then called Frank and left him a message asking for a website for both my attorney and my accountant. He did return my call asking me to call him back ASAP. To date I have not returned that call but I am curious to hear what he has to say.
I did pick up the documents that he had faxed over to me and I am glad that I did. I now have written proof of what he is proposing to do. I am sending a copy, along with a complaint, to both my Attorney General here in New York State and in the Canadian Providence.
Fortunately, the "training" I received from my former husband avoided a situation that I would most definitely regret. Yes, right now I could use a little help with a debt I need resolved, but I will find another way. The only expense I had in relation to this fiasco, is a little bit of my time, gas for my car and a few bucks to pick up the faxes. Perhaps I can help with putting this man in his place and save others the loss of funds that they already are short on. Good luck to all who have had this man cross their paths.
