Now the joker claims to accept credit cards. He is only using paypal to steal from his customers now. I still don't think anyone is going to get a refund from this corrupt company. If anyone is reading this and has a phone nmber for this company, please add the phone number to this report. This joker has again changed his phone number and I would love to stay in contact with this thief.

The refund I received was not 100% in accordance with all policies on the website. Joe (I suppose he is using the name Joe again) should go re-read his own policies. I am not 1000% satisfied, I did lose something and the site says you have nothing to lose. Why would there be restocking fees for a piece of equipment that does not work? I have been stolen from. Joes is a thief, a liar, and this is a scam (not a legitimate business). When you sell someone a piece of equipment with a guarantee, you replace a non-working unit with one that works, or you refund the customers money. You don't keep some of the customers money (that is stealing). This matter is not resolved and closed according to all parties concerned as you stated. I am one of the parties concerned and it's not resolved and closed in my opinion. If you really are sorry for any wrongdoing on your part, then return the money that you stole from me. Until that time my phone calls will not stop, and they are not harassing phone calls. I am simply asking you to return the money that you stole from me. After all of the empty threats I've listened to from this creep, and still not one call from his lawyer or any organization he supposedly reported me to. He has not reported me to anyone, and has filed no harassment lawsuit against me because he is the lawbreaker. I have every right under the laws of this country to continue calling him and asking him to return the money he stole from me. And as long as he has a toll free number posted on his website so that the calls are costing him money and not me the calls will continue until returns what he stole from me.

The refund was delayed due to it being sent back after 30 days. The refund was 100% in accordance with all policies on the website as of January 22nd, 2007. We are sincerely sorry for the entire situation with Mr. Palmer and our company for any wrong-doing on our part and for the delay in the refund. Our policies are very clear and listed in great detail on the site for anyone to review at anytime. We actually ONLY accept credit card orders and not COD at all anymore to help avoid unnecessarily bad situations such as this. This matter is already resolved and closed according to all parties concerned and we wish Mr. Palmer and his family the best. Hopefully the harrassing phone calls can stop, to date they have not.

This is a criminal that you are dealing with. This guy (and I agree with you Leisha, I have thought all along that this thief, Joe or Chris or whatever name he decides to go by at the moment) is in this alone. I believe he has probably been taught this scam from someone else even, and he's just been too stupid to return my money and get out of this fight that he cannot win. I believe in his training manual or whatever training he has received on running this scam, the main point is that you never lose money on any transaction. Even if he returns my money in full now, he has put me through so much to get it that it must be a crime. I can imagine how cruel this creep must have been to you on the phone, as he did have one opportunity to speak with my wife. I consider myself to be pretty thick skinned (especially with someone who doesn't even know me) and I can handle his insults, tone and other foolishness, but there is no reason for you to endure another conversation with him though. Go ahead and file your own report here with your story. I will search occasionally for new reports, and help you in any way that I can. Also file a complaint in your State and let them try to resolve your grievance. I promise all who read these words that I will not give up this fight. I want this person prosecuted for this crime. He needs to be out of business as ordered by the court in 2003. Please, if you are a victim of this scam, file a report with the Better Business Bureau, San Diego, CA. All of the complaints with the BBB are what landed him in court last time. I'm not concerned about the money anymore (that is how this all started, me and my money don't part that easily), I now want to see this criminal prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. After filing your complaint with the BBB, file a complaint with the State Attorney Generals Office of your State (this is who is responsible for protecting you from these types of unethical business practices, and they will attempt to resolve your grievance). You may also file a report with the FBI, and your local police. Do not settle for anything less than what you were promised when you placed your order. Please help us all and let's put this criminal out of business. Thanks to all for reading this report and taking these necessary actions.

Dale, My heart goes out to you tonight! These people have really put you into a horrible situation. I have a box that was sent to my father-in-law from them last week. I was about to send it back but have been receiving incomplete and non-constructive emails from "Chris - Return Manager". After reading your entire report, every word, I had to respond to you first, before filing a report of my own! I think you have done a wonderful thing to post this information, I only stumbled across it by searching the business name "MDS ENTERPRISES" in parenthesis, at Yahoo.com and finding a link that DOESN'T work, (but, thankfully, I went directly to ripoffreport.com and searched the business name again) And here I am!! I would love to talk with you somehow. Just to see what you think I should do. I think I should hold onto the box, the paperwork, and all the printouts of the NUMEROUS websites that I have found that link back to these same people. If you search for "AVENGER MX BOARD" you will see these: cableboxcity.com, cableboxking.com, cableboxbiz.com, cablescene.com, cablewholesalers.com, cablescore.com, CABLEJOKERS.COM, cableclamp.com... AND SO MANY MORE. They all have the infamous "IF YOU WISH TO DESCRAMBLE SCRAMBLED CHANNELS WITH THESE UNITS, YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO THE UNIT. AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARDS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE. WE DO NOT STOCK THEM OR SELL THEM SEPERATELY. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD, PLEASE TRY SEARCHING YAHOO OR EBAY. OUR WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE INSTALLATION OF THE AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO OUR UNITS AND/OR THE ATTEMPTED OPERATION OF OUR UNITS WITH AN AVENGER MX BOARD INSTALLED."!!!! Maybe I should file reports like you, but it doesn't seem like you have gotten anywhere with the people who should care most, the authorities???!!!!! This is the problem with technology, too many ways for people to rip you off!! What to do, what to do!! I am one of the ones who were scammed by these people and I too want to see justice served!!! Very Concerned about OTHERS!!!!!! THANK YOU DALE FOR INSPIRING ME TO FOLLOW IN YOUR FOOTSTEPS TO DO THE RIGHT THING!!! P.S. - I am very disgusted with the way the "cablejokers" so called "employees" are using GOD they way they have, when they are downright thieves! I also believe that Joe and Chris may be the same person and I hope that I do not have to talk to him again, now knowing what I do about what their business really is. Thanks again Dale, hopefully we can somehow come in contact with each other privately to discuss this further!

And here is what I read on the order page: Free 2006 Advanced 4-1 Universal Remote ($99 Value) 30 Day Free Trial! 30 Day money back guarantee! Tristar Buyers Protection upto $400 of protection. (Free $69 Tristar Surge Protector Included)! Free Cell Phone Booster (as seen on TV for $19.99) Free coax cable! Free batteries! Lifetime Warranty - 5 year trade in value! Lifetime Toll FREE tech support! "priceless" 100 % Satisfaction Guarantee! Nowhere did I see the policies he states before ordering from them. After I placed the order online, I received a phone call to confirm my order. During that phone conversation, I asked about paying with my credit card. I was told they do not accept credit cards, but they would send it to me C.O.D. I was promised that I have nothing to lose, because if it didn't work to my satisfaction I could return it for a refund (which to me, would mean my money back, all of it). I have had a very long drawn out fight with this guy over my refund. I have filed a report at ripoffreport.com with much more detailed information if you would consider reading on the Internet at http://www.RipOffReport.com/view.asp?id=223481. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Mr. Dale This person told me originally that his name was Joe, but last time I spoke with him he stated that his name was not Joe. In all of his correspondence to the State of Tennessee he does not put a name on it, just types Management. This is seriously one shady character. Why is it that he does not include his name on anything and changes or denies what his name is? This joker is in trouble and he knows it. I will not give up this fight. I have been stolen from, no doubt about it. I have every right to continue calling him (which I promise I will do), until I get my full refund. The only way I will stop calling and asking for my money back that he stole from me is to so be ordered by the courts. And even then I don't know, because as we all now know he was ordered by the court to shut down his website and stay out of the cable box business on October 16, 2003. He is not a law-abiding person already because he is disregarding what the court has ordered him to do, so why should I let this little thief get by with it? Furthermore according the return policies that he claims to be legitimate, His restocking fee would be for restocking the stock, not the shipping. So by what he sent to me as a refund $140.30 is still incorrect. The way he should charge me his stupid little fees would be as so: $229 minus the shipping fee of $20 equals $209. Now that we have deducted the shipping we would restock the item. You cannot restock shipping Joe you Schmuck, it's shipping not stock. Ok, anyways 30% of $209 equals $62.70. Now $209 minus the restocking fee of $62.70 equals $146.30. So even in your own little brain's opinion you're stealing $6 from me. In my opinion you are still stealing $88.70 from me. Has it been worth $88.70 to go through all of this? You should have returned my money. Oh, and by the way Joe (or whatever a lying thief calls himself these days), I still have not yet heard from your lawyer about the lawsuit you filed against me or any other empty threats you have made to me. What a little liar you are. And just consider and remember that this is not over for me by any means. Thank you again to ripoffreport.com for this outlet. I am really having a great time arguing with this idiot. I hope all of your readers are enjoying it also.

Well it continues. I received another letter today (2-9-07) from the Sate of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Consumer Affairs. Enclosed with that letter was a response from MDS Enterprises for my review. The letter from MDS Enterprises reads: Upon further review of Mr. Dale's account with us, we decided to refund him in accordance with the refund policy posted on our website. As stated, we will deduct a $20 shipping and handling fee and a 30% restocking fee. His original payment was $229. 30% of that is $68.70. This leaves him with $160.30. Minus $20 equals $140.30. Our refund policy has been unchanged since our website's inception. Therefore we consider this matter to be closed. Thank you for your patience and professionalism, Management I responded this time with a letter to the State, it reads: February 9, 2007 Dear Division of Consumer Affairs, I am not satisfied with the return I received from MDS Enterprises. Thanks Dale, for your finely detailed and etremely well put together report on these guys. I don't know which part I find the most offensive about them- the websight where they claim to offer such satisfaction guarantees, the fact that they wait after 30 days to give you an RMA number, the way they talk (write) to you, or the fact that after you fight and fight and FIGHT for them to follow the refund policy that they themselves list, they want you to remove any reports about your difficulties with them before they send your refund. What a bunch of crap. Thanks again. That is exactly what I believe this site was designed for.

Well it continues. I received a letter today (1-29-07) from the Sate of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Consumer Affairs. Enclosed with that letter was a response from MDS Enterprises for my review. The letter from MDS Enterprises reads: Thank you for your recent correspondence concerning Mr. Dale's account with us. Due to employee turnover, Mr. Dale's refund seems to have slipped through the cracks so to speak. This is by no means an excuse however we were not aware of the oversight. We have contacted Mr. Dale again and remitted his refund in accordance with the terms listed on our website We have mailed it to his last known address. We have refunded him the amount of $229.00 which is consistent with the terms on our website. Thank you for your patience and professionalism, Management I don't understand why they would lie to the Division of Consumer Affairs. This is definitely not an oversight. This is a RIP-OFF. I called them to ask why they would lie to the State of Tennessee. The guy on the phone was Joe, but now he says his name is not Joe. Anyways, he states that he did not lie to the State of Tennessee, and that the letter was correct. He told me that this case is closed and that I cannot call them anymore. I told him it is not, and that I have every right to call and request that they return the money they stole from me. He again was telling me he hopes I die and go to hell, calling me a dumb a*s old man, and numerous other nasty things. Never once did I curse at him. He was cursing at me the whole time we were on the phone, and finally hung up on me. Then he called me back and demanded an apology from me, cursed me out again and hung up again. I have nothing to apologize for. They misrepresented a product and still have not refunded my money, but told the State of Tennessee that they did. I have responded to the Division of Consumer Affairs, letting them know that the letter they received from MDS Enterprises was fraudulent. I was not refunded $229 as the letter to the state says. I received $140.30, which does not satisfy my complaint. I also let them know that this was not an oversight as they have refused my refund from the beginning. I did have the opportunity to tell Joe (or whatever his name is) that he is a cheat, a liar, a thief, and a schmuck, which I did enjoy getting him spun up again. I will let the Division of Consumer Affairs deal with this schmuck further.

I was surprised to find letter and money order from MDS Enterprises on 1-25-07 in my mailbox. This is the letter: Dear Sir, Please find your refund in the agreed amount of $140.30 enclosed (original purchase price minus $20 initial shipping charge per unit per our website's return policy). We have also deducted 30% for a restocking fee per unit per our website's return policy. This refund is in regards to your cable box purchase and subsequent return. We apologize for any inconvenience that we may have caused you. Management Well, it is not an amount that we agreed on. I'm sure I explained that I would not be satisfied with anything less than my original $229. I didn't think I was going to get a refund at all, so $140 is nice to have. I still feel that I've been stolen from, and the website's return policy contradicts itself. I was entitled to a full refund of the purchase price. So, I am not stopping any complaints that have been filed on this company. I would like to see them shut down as was ordered by the court on October 16, 2003. I will post any updates from the investigations in progress. And I still have yet to hear from their lawyers that they kept threatening me with. Joe you are such a liar and a cheat. Where is your harassment lawsuit against me (empty threats)? You know you are still in the wrong and you have stolen my money. And I still believe you are the only one there, because I never got to speak to anyone else. This guy is such a schmuck and definitely a RIP-OFF. Buyers beware.

Give Mr Dale his full refund! He had nothing to loose according to your web site. I can only wish that anyone who is considering buying one of these boxes from cablejokers.com or any other their other web sites could somehow read this first. But people don't automatically assume that everyone is like cablejokers and just out to rip them off. Honor your guarantee! I am so glad that I ran across this web site (ripoffreport.com) because I was ready to order just about a complete satellite system from them. When I got to the checkout I noticed that it automatically had me paying COD. So I stopped and sent them an email to ask why their checkout system wanted me to pay COD and how could I pay with a credit card? Then after doing a Yahoo search on cablejokers, there was a link to this site. After reading the comments here I sent another email asking them to disregard my last email and told them I'd read about them here and was not interested in ordering from them now. They responded to my first email with, "I'm sorry we don't offer credit card, I'm not sure why you would think we do sir." And they responded to my second email where I told them to disregard my last with, "LOL, good for you." I wish now I had let them ship the junk to me so I could refuse the shipment if only to cost them some of the money they rip off from other human beings! Luckily for me, I'm not at home during the day so I knew I couldn't be there to pay the COD or I might have been in the same boat as Mr Dale. Whew! Once again, Thank you Mr Dale for taking the time to let us know about how this scammer does business. Note to cablejokers... The reason I thought you took credit cards? Well your own web site, in the buying tips section states," Be sure you order from a site who accepts credit cards and COD's. Paying with a checking account should never be done. Check the money back guarantee and see how you are protected." Well COD is a ripoff as well. Your money back guarantee is worthless as we have seen here. Your company should have issued an RMA number to Mr Dale when he called and you should have dealt with this properly and honestly in the first place. Good luck Mr Dale, I do hope you get your money back and in the process this company gets shut down, out of business.

You Can't Lose! You can't go wrong by trying out this cable box, the worst that can happen is that you use it free for 30 Days! Remember the only reason we can make this offer is because we are so confident that you'll be thrilled and delighted with your new cable box! All units come with a 30 day money back guarantee. 1 year and 3 year warranties must be purchased. If your equipment does not work properly, simply return it to us within the first 30 days and we'll either replace it or refund your money. Just contact us for a RMA number. The $20 shipping and handling fee is non-refundable (these fees are normally included in the sale price). All items must be returned in the same condition (with all parts) that they were received in. If you send your unit back with missing or damaged parts you will be charged accordingly. Please allow 3-4 weeks for refund. Check return policy below for information on restocking fee. To be eligible to return your unit, you must have purchased a 1 year or a 3 year warranty card. You must obtain a Return Authorization number (RMA) before any product can be returned. Email technical support for authorization. Merchandise must be in "like new and unused condition", with all accessories, manuals, boxes, a/c adapters, and original packaging. All returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee. Initial shipping is non refundable. You must also pay for return shipping to us. Additional charges will be assessed for damaged returns. Merchandise that comes back with handwriting on it (or it's box) is considered "damaged". Boxes that have the parental lock set are also considered damaged, there's no "master reset" code and you must clear the code before a refund of any kind. Failure to do so will result in your box being returned to you. The 30 days starts from the order date on your invoice. the above is quoted from there web site. this dont add up. they say you have nothing to loose......if you buy the thing and dont like it there is something to lose. 20 dollars and the restocking fee of 30%. hmmm this is a red flag for me. to bad this company is t honest.

Received this: It's up to you. We've tried being as reasonable as possible given the circumstances, but for some reason you think being negative and threatening will yield you positive results and somehow a refund, but you are mistaken. We are not legally obligated to refund you due to the unit not being returned within the 30 day window we do offer and that is a legal undeniable and easily provable fact. I'm also confident that the unit will be in 100% working order (as it was sent in) when it's tested unless someone at your location has tampered with it. We also have it documented that you did open the lid of the unit without authorization which also would void the warranty as per the policy on the site. My last friendly suggestion, is that you should rethink your position and comments and make sure you want to pass up our reasonable offer of a mutually amiccable resolution to resolve this horrible and unfortunate situation. If you do agree to canceling ALL complaints, charges, suits, or whatever, and reflecting that this matter has been handled as best as possible given the circumstances and that you've been refunded per the policy on the site (whether you agree with the restocking fee or not, at least I'm not deducting our original shipping cost which I could also do but have decided against) in any postings on any and all websites and the matter is completely closed, with no further action to be taken by either your party or ours, then we will refund you immediately even though you didn't send the unit back in time at all. The choice is yours, we are not making decision, you are making it for us. Please let me know how to proceed. Chris Refund Manager Sent this: Are you willing to compromise? I will accept a 15% restocking fee and stop complaining. I will stop all investigations and online complaints. I know I have put you all out a lot of time as I have been out myself, and quite frankly am tired of fighting over this. Dale Received this: Hello, The comprimise is to offer you the refund of $160.30 that we have mentioned time and time again, if you remove and or drop all complaints/investigations or whatever and send us proof of these closures for our records in case we need them. This would be instead of just leaving it to the justice system, which is fine with us if you choose that route as well, we have faith in justice and our government. If you choose to decline what is a more than reasonable agreement, I would expect you to proceed with your complaints and we would be happy to allow the matter to be worked out in that way over time, as long as it takes. Please e-mail me back immediately, as I have been on the phone with our lawyer this morning due to your threats so I need to let him know whether we can handle this like adults between ourselves, or if I need him and other authorities to take care of this for us. Thank you for at least posting our e-mail conversations, that at least allows anyone else to see that we are trying to do all we can to resolve this matter. Thank you, Chris Refund Manager Sent this: Agree, you have successfully wore me out. Send me my refund check and once received I will stop my complaint. Thank you. Received this: Hello, OK, that is fine and reasonable, but I need you to send an e-mail back to me in response to this e-mail stating the following please for the final official record and I will make sure your refund is sent promptly and this matter will be over and done with for all of us forever, praise be to God. For the record as well, we do also agree to the following statements and any of the text referring to Mr. Dale can be switched for our company and it applies in the same reverse sense as well (if that makes sense). Basically we are saying the same thing accept with our name in place of yours and vice-versa. Please state: 1. That this mutually agreed upon positive conclusion of a refund in the amount of $160.30 of the original purchase price of $229, in accordance with our policies posted on the site, to this matter/case/account, although the process was frustrating for all parties, is acceptable by myself and all other involved parties. 2. That this matter/case/account will be immediately and 100% fully closed/dropped/stopped/canceled/removed once the money order in the amount of $160.30 is received by you, Mr. Dale. 3. That this agreement 100% completely satisfies any/all complaints or disagreements that Mr. Dale Palmer may have initiated/filed against our business/employee(s)/company, and no further action will be taken by either party in this matter. 4. That once the aforementioned refund is received, we will not contact each other at all via e-mail, telephone, or through a third party again ever. We do hereby agree to the above mentioned comments and have made arrangements with Mr. Dale to resolve this matter in a mutually acceptable and agreeable fashion with no further threats or problems whatsoever. Again Mr. Dale, I do sincerely apologize on behalf of our company and any of it's representatives for any improper comments or behavior in this matter, and do sincerely wish you and your family the very best especially during this holiday season. May God be with you and your family and I pray that we can all put all of this behind us and proceed with our blessed lives happily. Thank you, Chris Refund Manager I replied: Ditto agree. Received this: Hello, Thank you, but I have been told that at the very least you would need to copy and paste the e-mail we sent you and resend it as your own, although I think it's clear you agree, technically that isn't suffecient from what I've been told. Thank you in advance for taking care of this. Chris I responded: I was giving up, but now you are just being way too demanding. I am sick as a dog today and just wanted to end this somehow in a civil fashion. Now I feel like you want me to jump through hoops like a dog at the show. You have previously offered me the refund without any stipulations. I reread your earlier email in which you state, ?We also have it documented that you did open the lid of the unit without authorization which also would void the warranty as per the policy on the site. I did not do that. I have pictures of the box prior to packaging and witnesses who watched me package it for shipment. Why is it necessary for you to lie now? If you want me to jump through hoops, make me a better offer than this. As previously stated, I am tired of the fight. However if you want to continue, I guess I have no choice. Please don't email me back and lie about me again. I will continue the route I was on before when I'm feeling better, maybe tomorrow. It's not so much about the money for me, as it must be for you. I just wanted to be treated fairly. Sorry we could not come to agreeing terms even though it appeared to me that we had. Dale They really got me good. They offered me a refund so I sent the box back to them. After I sent the box beck they again became impossible to deal with. Notice above, they never started making ridiculous demands of me until after I sent the unit back in. Now, no refund and no box, and they say it's my entire fault, absolutely unbelievable. Word to the wise; do not order from anyone mail order or Internet when they will not accept credit card payment. If you order anything COD you are setting yourself up for great disappointment. These thieves or this thief, whatever the case is will not deal fairly with you. I bet if I would have been there little dancing monkey they still would not have returned my money to me. They were already saying that I opened the case, which I assure you I did not do. The piece of crap did not work. All I did was hook it up, see that it didn't work, called them for tech support (no help), called for a return authorization number (refused), and then argued with them forever. What a colossal waste of my time. I still don't want them to retain the money they stole from me, so I'll probably start calling again. Someone answer me this. If people were to order from this website, have the equipment sent to them COD and refuse shipment because they decided to not order from them after reading this report: what recourse is available to cablejokers.com for this type of dealing? Being retired from the Navy I have a very large email buddy list of close friends all over the world that I'm sure would be willing to just that. I really don't like the fact that they still have my money (and now the box also). If my friends wouldn't get into any trouble for it that will be my next step. I still feel the need to stick it to them. I have been stolen from. No doubt about it. Any threat they have made to file a civil suit against me has no basis at all. They stole my money first. Everything that has happened from that point is due to them misrepresenting a product. I am not in the wrong here and I'm positive of it. They made me negative that is not my normal behavoir. I expect fairness from people, and in this case did not receive a fair shake.

It has been shown several times here now that cablejokers even tells you how to steal cable on their website. Mr Dale had not installed the video board that was needed to steal cable, he was simply wanting to own his own cable box. Some cable companies force you to rent a box from them. So what's wrong with wanting to own you own box? The company's website plainly stated that you have nothing to loose by trying their box. But if it doesn't work for you, then it seem that they simply accuse their customers of trying to steal cable so they can get out of their guarantee. An easy out for them or so they think. Mr Dale said he could only get something like 15 of the 50 channels he pays for. It's easy, the box did not work! Take it back cablejokers and give him his full refund as your website promises!!! I applaud Mr Dale for standing up for his rights as a consumer! Even if the crooked company doesn't send him the refund he deserves, he is not making it easy on them. If all of us would take the time to do things like this, these crooked companies might end up spending to much time for their rip-off to be worth it. But as sad as it is, far to many people just sit back and let these scammers rip us off. Thank you for alerting other consumers to this vile practice by another disreputable company.

Tuning in your cable with a TV or VCR is possible if your cable provider is cable ready which mine is not. I have to have a cable box to tune the channels in. I can rent one from my cable provider and actually am renting 2 from them now. From how this cable box is advertised on the website, I expected a better quality picture than what I'm getting with the box I'm renting from my cable provider.

You wanted to steal cable. Plain and simple. Any VCR/DVD TV can receive cable without a box-except of course pay channels. I'm watching mine right now. This is also the reason you go to companies like that-for the ability to steal it. I personally don't care if you do or not but to play the smitten victim is ludicrous. Not everyone is stupid. If you actually "needed" one for your cable-you could have easily gotten one from your cable provider.

The box was delivered to them at 11:18 12-18-06
Received this email back:
Hello,
OK, if that is your attitude and your position, then we will not be sending any refund, as the unit was not returned to us within thirty days. The product did and does work which we are prepared to prove in a court of law, it just won't do what you asked which is receive channels without paying for them which we can also prove in a court of law that you did ask. You are not eligible for a refund and since you are not reacting appropriately or handling this accordingly, I am notifying you not to contact me again. I was trying to help you and work something out for you even though I did and do not legally have to since you didn't return the unit within the proper time, but you are unreasonable. It will be up to you to prove your false statements, so good luck with that. You can report anything to anyone you want, we will be prepared. Good luck and god bless you Mr. P.

I responded:
Hello again,
I am prepared to testify in court that it did not work on my cable system for its intended legal use as you warranty it. I also have witnesses to back that up. All you had to do from the beginning of this was honor your warranty.
Dale
Received this:
Your points are clear and I think we understand each other.
And sent this:
How convenient for you to refuse my refund right after you received the box back.

Just received this email today:
Hello,
Your refund will be the previously mentioned amount and that decision is final. After this e-mail, I am through discussing anything with you as it is obviously pointless. We are refunding your account in spite of your improper behavior
and exceeding your 30 day guarantee. It was your obligation to return the unit, you seem to feel blaming Joe for saying your return would be sent back is reasonable, but it's not. At no time did Joe or anyone from our company ever tell you that, the matter has been thuroughly reviewed, and that is simply not true.
You could have sent your unit back anytime, but you chose not to, your fault not ours. 30% Restocking Fee as posted will be deducted in accordance with our policies even though you did not live up to your end, which any third, neutral party that reviews this matter should see. If you don't post an update of our current situation, then we will just repost every e-mail that we've sent or received from you, that's not a problem.
You will post the truth about your refund being delivered whether you want to or not and you will end any other complaints against us once you've been refunded the previously stated amount. Once your refund is received, any and all dealings between us is through and if you do not properly end all complaints against us with anyone, we will take the necessary steps to fight your complaints with our full might. If that happens, we will also take further steps against you for your behavior and actions in this matter.
As far as an apology from Joe, he was suspended without pay for a week for improperly retaliating to your instigating remarks. He has informed us that he is seeking legal council against you in a civil matter completely seperate from our business reguarding your conversations and his resulting loss of wages.
Thank you,

I responded:
Hello,
I will not be satisfied with a refund less that the original $229. Furthermore, you are not an authority over me, and cannot tell me what I will or will not do. I will seek further justice through the State Attorney generals office in California and Tennessee. I will also report this crime to the FBI, as I believe you should be investigated. I believe your business practices are unethical and every one who has ever contacted me from your company, or anyone with your company whom I have contacted has been condescending, rude and threatening to me, as you now continue to be.
If the site cablejokers.com had been disabled as ordered by the court on October 16, 2003 our transaction would have never happened. I expect that you have many more complaints against your company than just mine. I am not intimidated by yours or Joe's threats of lawsuits against me sir. Unless I receive a refund of the purchase price I do still have a grievance against you no matter what is posted on you website. That is what I was assured of when ordering and is also posted on your website.
Your return policy on your website contradicts itself. The product did not work. Are you going to restock an item that does not work and sell it to another victim? I was assured that the shipment would be refused, and told that the address on the package was not the return address. Why didn't anyone respond to my numerous messages and email requesting the RMA to return this product? If Joe is an employee, his behavior is deserving of being fired, not suspended. As a consumer, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect, not talked down to and intimidated or threatened in the manner your company has done repeatedly. Your call, you can return my money or let this grievance against you continue. FYI, I have already posted all of our emails on ripoffreport.com and will post these emails also.

What a terrible business. These other guys may be a little more polite than Joe, but they're still ripping you off.
Your guarantee has NOT expired. This is because you reported the problem during the 30 days. Since THEY have refused to allow you to return the unit until now, that time doesn't count. You are still entitled to a FULL refund per the written guarantee. Get them to agree in writing that they will be giving you ALL of your money back, regardless of the condition of the box(*) before sending the unit.
(*) What will obviously happen next, is once they have the box, they will alledge that you damaged it by attempting to modify it. And without the unit, how do you prove otheriwse, so buh-bye refund. Since they claim to be willing to bend the rules for you, tell them that since you didn't attempt to modify the box anyway (and are willing to swear to that if it comes before a judge, hint, hint), you want them to agree not to try that stupid loophole.

Email correspondence, and telephone conversations. 12-11-06
Joe called me today. He claimed to have had a good church experience yesterday and said he's been told by the owner to offer me a refund, and that they are going to send me an email from the returns department with the RMA number. (I could hear the nervousness in his voice, and was amused by it). I offered an apology for getting him as upset as I have done. He told me I don't have to apologize to him, and he said he does not want to be on my bad side as I am a very thorough person. I told him after a refund is given I would post an update on ripoffreport.com. He said I could post whatever I wanted to on that site. I was appreciative, but being a bit leery asked were they going to deduct anything from my refund. I was told a 10 - 30% restocking fee would be charged. He stated that he would expect it to be 10 or 15%. After all my trouble getting to this point I would like to be assured as to the amount before I agree to anything. He told me I could respond to the email with any questions.
About 5 ? 10 minutes later I received this email:

I responded to the email:
Hello Mr. (last name removed),
This is a difficult for decision for me to make. I would like to get my refund, and I will send the box back to you. But, Joe tells me that you have the conversations that we have had recorded yet he has made numerous false quotes that were supposedly from me on the World Wide Web. I never said the nasty things he has quoted me saying. With the exception of the conversation we had on the phone today, he has by far been the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I would be much more satisfied if Joe would offer a personal apology to me for the slanderous things he has said about me at ripoffreport.com and would like to see it posted in that same forum, as this has gone beyond me just feeling cheated out of my money. You can read these statements here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff223481.htm and compare them to the recorded conversations. I would also appreciate if your restocking fees could be waived on this account, as I have spent a lot of my personal time and resources getting to this point to be offered a refund. Thank you in advance for your consideration on this issue.
Dale
About five minutes after I had sent that email Joe called me again, saying he's been getting yelled at by his boss for 20 minutes because of the email I had just sent, and claiming that I had caused him a lot of trouble by sending that email, and his boss wants to suspend him for a week, which would cause him a loss of about $1000. He was again arrogant and difficult to have a conversation with. He told me he has his own lawyer apart from the company and would seek to sue me for harassment. I don't understand this, he told me earlier he would not want to be on my bad side, but here he is threatening me again. I asked him about the things he has posted on ripoffreport.com, if he actually believes I said the things he has quoted me saying. He stands by his word and assures me the conversations are on tape. I told him I know I didn't say the nasty things he has quoted me saying, and that he must have our conversations confused with conversations he's had with someone else. I asked him to play back the recording to me, and he stated he does not have access to them. I requested that he get a copy of the tapes and call me back and play them to me, because I know for a fact he does not have my voice recorded saying these things. There is no way the two of us will come to a resolve on this and I said that to him on the phone.
After this phone conversation, I sent this email to [email protected]:
Hello again Mr. (last name removed),
I just received a call from Joe. I remain displeased with our conversations. Probably due to our past history it is difficult for us to have a civil conversation together. Would you please give me a call at (my phone number)? Thank you.
Dale
Then I received this email:
Hello,
All of our correspondance here is via e-mail. You and Joe should have no further contact in my opinion, he has been instructed not to call you or speak with you due to the now pending investigation on our part in this matter. I do not feel that a refund is warranted in this case personally, but it was
Joe who made it known to myself and our owner, Mr. Winters who agrees with Joe, that your account should be refunded in spite of your behavior, your attempts at improperly using our product, and the expired 30 day guarantee. I am still willing to accomodate you in this matter, but as I stated, I will need you to return the product immediately and I will need you to e-mail me the return tracking number so that I can get this account properly closed as soon as possible, time is a factor. Technically your money back guarantee is expired, so I would recommend resolving this now as this is a one-time offer to resolve this matter in a mutually satisfactory fashion as we
are in no way obligated to still offer a refund given the circumstances. If you would like a refund on this account, we would be happy to accomodate you and you would need to return the unit immediately. If you wish to go through different channels to resolve this matter, that is definately your right as well. Please e-mail me back as soon as possible so I know how to prepare or proceed with your account.
Thank you,
Chris (last name removed)

I decided at least for the moment take whatever they are willing to give me back, and I responded with:
I will ship it out to you tomorrow, and email you the tracking number.
Then received this email back:
Hello,
Thank you for your response and as stated previously, once we receive the unit it will be tested and your refund money order will be sent out immediately after the full diagnostic. The money order will be sent in your name to the original shipping address on file and your account will be closed and all records of our transactions, recordings, e-mail correspondance, and any other documents reguarding your account will be destroyed and this matter will be done and over with. Again, I do apologize on behalf of the company for any problems, frustrations, and/or difficulties you've had in this experience, it is definately a rare and not typical situation that we are all trying to handle
to the best of our abilities.

Hello,
Thank you very much, we will have your refund sent out as we have previously

My first response to this email was: But Mr. Chris we have never had a conversation as you refused to call me and would only correspond with me via email. But I did not send any further emails. I considered all this and decided to not do anything until I have received the refund from them and it has cleared my bank. I'm going to get back whatever money they are willing to give me before I take any more action on this case.
I couldn't contain myself and on 12-13-06 sent this email:
But Mr. Chris we've never had a conversation. You refused to call me and said our only correspondence would be through email. Are you requesting that I post the conversations I've had with Joe? I don't believe it would be beneficial to your company for me to post those, as speaking with him once again did not satisfy me. Also I requested you to waive the restocking fees Joe informed me about, but you refused. Yet on your website it states:
1000% Satisfaction Guarantee!
"We offer a 1,000 percent satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason..." or "If you're are not completely delighted," or, "if this cable box doesn't work 10 times better than we say it does, send it back. No questions asked. We'll refund your purchase price!"
As for your statement in your previous email about the 30-day guarantee having expired. I attempted to return the box the day I received it, but your company was unwilling to give me the needed RMA. I relentlessly tried to get the needed RMA number by email and numerous telephone messages. When I finally did get through on the phone I told Joe on 11-30-06 that I would send it back without the RMA, and was assured shipment would be refused and it would be returned to me and I would simply be out the money spent on shipping.
Dale
Then received this response on 12-14-06:
Hello,
When I said "our conversations", I was referring to the three previous back and forth e-mails that we have been sending to each other since I have been involved and the RMA was sent to you via e-mail about a week ago. We, myself and the company, have made arrangements to accomodate you and your refund request, and I have been extremely polite in all of our e-mail
conversations. I have taken your continued negative comments to try to allow you to be given the proper consideration you deserve as a valued customer, but I can only take so much. The matter is being handled properly, so could you please stop with the additional unnecessary comments and just focus on the present current situation. In reguards to my reference in the previous e-mail about posting our conversations, I would like to have all negative references to our company and employess removed immediately. I am accomodating you, and I am requesting that you accomodate me in my request. So please reflect the current situation to show the positive results that dealing with me is yielding you and how I am working a return and refund out for you. Once that is done, I need you to have any and all reports closed so that I can properly refund your account and close this matter for good. Please feel free to e-mail me back with any positive questions, comments, or suggestions.
Thank you,
Chris (last name removed)
Refund Manager
I responded:
Hello again Mr. (last name removed),
I cannot remove any negative comments on that website, once it is posted they do not remove them. I will post another update about our email conversations and the refund once my refund has been received. At that time I will also contact the BBB and all law enforcement offices that have an open investigation into this matter and report to them that our dispute has been settled, I have already contacted some of these and asked that the case be put on hold until I contact them after receiving my refund. I do appreciate the refund offer. However, I know that this could have been handled the day I received the box from your company. It is not my purpose to sound negative, and I assure you I look forward to this business transaction being
completed.
Thank you,
Dale
Mr. Chris responded:
Hello,
Your original transaction price was $229. In our guarantee policy which you can find online at cablejokers.com, which expired on December 1st in your case, we reserve the right to charge a 0%-30% (30% of $229 = $68.70) Restocking Fee plus the original shipping cost. Since you shipped it back at your expense, we will not be deducting our original expense charge of $20. I have determined that you will be refunded the amount of $160.30 once we receive the merchandise and have it tested to determine that it is in the exact condition that it was sent out in. We will send a money order in the name of Dale (last name removed) to the address of (address name removed). Once you receive the refund we will expect you to live up to your word and remove all negative complaints with any and everyone that you have notified. We will keep all of our e-mail correspondance on file to make sure that both you and us live up to our agreements. Please feel free to e-mail back with any additional positive comments, questions, or suggestions.
Thank you,

Refund Manager
I replied:
Mr. (last name removed),
I never agreed to remove all negative complaints with any and everyone that I have notified. I am not able to remove anything from ripoffreport.com. I myself have been lied about on that same site. Are you going to attempt to have the postings from your employee removed? Also When I spoke with Joe on Monday, and was asking about the restocking fees, he told me that he expected the restocking fees to be 10 ? 15%. At that time I responded to the email with the RMA requesting the restocking fees be waived, due to the time and effort on my part to get the RMA number from you. The 30-day guarantee expired because your company was unresponsive to me. How did you come to the determination of 30%? From my perspective, I received a product from you that did not work with a guarantee. I spent an enormous amount of my time fighting for my rights to get the refund I was assured of when ordering from you. Now you are going to charge me $68.70 for all of this trouble I've had. Are you able to step out and see my side of this? I will accept whatever refund you decide to give me, but that does not mean my experience has been a positive one.
Received this email:
Hello,
We will need you to at the very least post a clear positive rebuttal that the refund manager and the owner are working out a refund for you. I cannot have negative comments about my employees or company posted all over the Internet. I do need any and all complaints stopped and canceled immediately, that is not a request. Once I have an e-mail from you stating that this has been done, I will personally mail out your refund, which I may lower the restocking fee on depending on your response. But honestly, the simple fact of the matter is that you could have returned your unit at any time. The return address was on the box the unit was shipped in. The site says there is a 30% restocking fee applicable to any return. We didn't receive the unit back within the 30 days and the guarantee expired. You have filed negative complaints against us with who knows how many different sources. I am doing my best to accomodate you in this matter, but I need you to do the right thing and remove, cancel, stop, or whatever you can do to reflect that we are at least trying to make the best out of a bad situation and then you won't have to deal with us and we won't have to deal with you. You did request for assistance in receiving premium pay channels without paying for them, which is illegal. I look forward to your response and finishing our dealings in this matter as soon as possible. Please feel free to e-mail me back with any additional positive questions, comments, or suggestions.
Thank you,
Chris (last name removed)
Refund Manager
I responded:
Hello,
I will post a positive rebuttal after Joe, or someone else from your company has posted an apology for the supposed quotes from me, and you tell me for a fact that my refund will be $229. Even in your emails you are condescending to me. Your statement: ?I do need any and all complaints stopped and canceled immediately, that is not a request?. If not a request, what is it? Are you now ordering me what to do? Are you going to hold my refund for ransom?
Your statement: ?But honestly, the simple fact of the matter is that you could have returned your unit at any time. The return address was on the box the unit was shipped in.? I don't know how many times I need to explain myself. The simple fact is I was told that shipment would be refused without the RMA, which I did not receive until the 30 days had expired. Not my fault.
Your site does have posted about a 30% restocking fee, but it also states: ?1000% Satisfaction Guarantee! "We offer a 1,000 percent satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason..." or "If you're are not completely delighted," or, "if this cable box doesn't work 10 times better than we say it does, send it back. No questions asked. We'll refund your purchase price!" I was also assured on the phone when I tried but could not pay by credit card as the order was confirmed that if I was not satisfied I could return it for a refund. I was assured I had nothing to lose. I have lost an extreme amount of my time and energy, and now I am apparently going to lose more money than just the shipping cost of sending it back. I have filed negative complaints because it has been a negative experience for me. Even if I had voiced that I wanted to steal premium cable channels, my attorney has assured me that is not against the law. Had I installed the board into your box and intercepted the signal I would have broken the law. Your company has broken the law by misrepresenting a product, and not honoring your guarantee.
These are the statements posted by your employee on ripoffreport.com that I'm referring to:
He has done nothing but call and harrass myself and our employees almost daily for weeks, calling non-stop, threatening mine and my co-workers lives, and calling us every outdated racist slur he could come up with.
This guy is probably clinically insane,
I just wish he would stop threatening me and my employees and our families. I believe we have stayed amazingly patient and calm given the comments he's made to us every day for weeks. The simple fact is, we are not "stupid fagot n*g**rs", or "f***ing thieving porch monkeys", and we do not "pick cotton or tobacco like in the good old days" as he has repeatedly said to just mention a few of the horrible things we've had to endure.
Conclusion:
If you can call me and play the tape of me threatening anyone's life, calling you every outdated racist slur, and the other name-calling listed above I will stop all complaints and post an apology on ripoffreport.com, and you can even keep the entire $229 and the box.
Another way you can finish our dealings completely is to return my money to me. And if you want to see any positive comments from me on ripoffreport.com I need to see an apology posted from your company first.

Joe - This seems to be a simple issue.
1. You sold a cable box to Mr. Dale.
2. Your website says:
"1000% Satisfaction Guarantee!
"We offer a 1,000 percent satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason..." or "If you're are not completely delighted," or, "if this cable box doesn't work 10 times better than we say it does, send it back. No questions asked. We'll refund your purchase price!"
Try It Free For 30 Days!
Don't decide now if this cable box is right for you. Just check it out. Try it free for 30 Days! At worst you'll get your money back. If you decide not to keep it for any reason, just send it back within 30 Days for a refund no questions asked!
You Can't Lose!
You can't go wrong by trying out this cable box, the worst that can happen is that you use it free for 30 Days then send it back for a refund if you decide not to keep it! Remember the only reason we can make this offer is because we are so confident that you'll be thrilled and delighted with your new cable box!
"
3. Mr. Dale is NOT satisfied.
4. You have refused to refund his money.
5. Your website also says:
"IF YOU WISH TO DESCRAMBLE SCRAMBLED CHANNELS WITH THESE UNITS, YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO THE UNIT. AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARDS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE. WE DO NOT STOCK THEM OR SELL THEM SEPERATELY. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD, PLEASE TRY SEARCHING YAHOO OR EBAY. OUR WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE INSTALLATION OF THE AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO OUR UNITS AND/OR THE ATTEMPTED OPERATION OF OUR UNITS WITH AN AVENGER MX BOARD INSTALLED." so you give directions of how to 'steal' premium cable channels. You also void the warranty IF such a device is installed. But Mr. Dale didn't install the device, so why haven't you returned his money?
6. Irrespective of intended use, if Mr. Dale did not install an Avenger MX board, then your money back guarantee is in effect.
Conclusion: You are ripping off Mr. Dale by refusing to honor your own waranty "If for any reason..." or "If you're are not completely delighted," or, "if this cable box doesn't work 10 times better than we say it does, send it back. No questions asked. We'll refund your purchase price!"
End of story.
Give him back his money.

This company is about as shady as they come. Their website tells you what needs to be done to receive premium channels and they even go so far as to mention the "Avenger MX video board" that is required to do so. Links are even provided to search engines to help you out.
It appears that Dale never installed a video board and the product supposedly isn't working correct. Why shouldn't he get a refund? How convenient for Cablejokers that they can deny him his warranty/guarantee because they thought he was trying to steal cable. It has no relevence to the fact that the product doesn't work correctly. Then threatening to turn him in when he pushes the issue?!
IMO that's borderline extortion. "Go away or we'll snitch on you", is how that comes across. If I turn on my tv and attempt to view a pay-per view channel that still comes up scrambled, have I illegally attempted to steal cable? If I run a stop-sign in my car, does that void the warranty on it also?
Cablejokers knows what these boxes are sometimes used for and like I previously stated they offer directions/help on illegally operating their devices. Kind of like the companies that sell kits to make illegal weapons. The kits are legal, but once built they're not. Cablejokers seems to want to hear the right set of words from their unhappy customers so they can slam the door in their faces and accuse them of criminal activity.
Dale deserves a working box like he paid for. Cablejokers is skirting the issue, which is about selling a product that isn't working correctly. But instead of helping the customer, all they do is point fingers and turn it all around.

This will most likely be my last posting. I spoke with my attorney this morning. Here are the facts: CABLEJOKERS.COM misrepresented this product on the website. After I called them and told them that it did not work to my satisfaction they were required to honor their money back guarantee. Anything that happened after that point is not relevant. Even if Joe did have me recorded saying I wanted to steal HBO or anything else (which I assure you he does not) it does not give him the right to void my warranty. He cannot report me to anyone, as I have not broken any laws. He is without a doubt the guilty party. He cannot sue me for harassment, because I have every right to call him as often as would like and ask him to honor his own word and return the money he stole from me. On 11-15-06, I reported this complaint to the better Business Bureau in San Diego, CA. The BBB has tried twice to contact this company to resolve the complaint, but have received no response. This is a pattern for CABLEJOKERS.COM with the BBB. On 12-1-06, I reported this crime to my local sheriff's department and an investigator was assigned on Monday the 4th. My lawyer counseled me to not put much faith in either of these. My next step is to report this crime to the Office of the Attorney General in his state, CA and mine, TN (this is who is responsible for prosecuting these types of scams). He also counseled me to file a report with the FBI, and they will also investigate this matter. I am currently working on doing all that my attorney has advised me to do. If this thief has scammed you I would encourage you to do the same. $229 is more important to him than it is to me since he is willing to steal it. But I can have the satisfaction of having him investigated and prosecuted for this crime. I do hope to see justice in this case (that's not an empty statement like it is when Joes says it). Everything that Joe has posted on here that I supposedly said is nothing but lies. He's knows that's the truth just as I do. Posting this report on RIPOFFREPORT.COM has been by far the most fun and entertaining report I have filed on this creep. Joe, I know that you will read this. Let's hear your response you little weasel. I just can't wait to hear it. I bet your empty threats and vile words are also a pattern with all of the people you have scammed, you insignificant little schmuck. Respond please, as I am still entertained by you. If you won't respond, that's OK I'll just get your opinions during our next telephone conversation (GUT BUSTING LAUGHTER HERE). A heartfelt thanks goes out to RIPOFFREPORT.COM. You do provide a much-needed outlet to expose these perpetrators.

Joe - I checked out your site. Your responses here show how disturbed you are when people try to steal cable. You are so moral that you feel you must prevent cable theft even to the extent of reporting customers to the police.
However, this is what you have posted on your web site:
IF YOU WISH TO DESCRAMBLE SCRAMBLED CHANNELS WITH THESE UNITS, YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO THE UNIT. AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARDS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE. WE DO NOT STOCK THEM OR SELL THEM SEPERATELY. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD, PLEASE TRY SEARCHING YAHOO OR EBAY. You attack Dale for trying to steal cable!! What a jerk you are! You tell people how to steal cable but cover yourself by not selling the descrambler. Instead you tell people that they can obtain illegal cable, the units you sell allow ad ons which support cable theft, and even tell people where to search for descramblers.
I would guess that you have helped hundreds or thousands of people recieve illegal cable.
You really have some nerve.

Was Dale planning to steal HBO? I don't know. It doesn't matter. It never got to that point. The box didn't work in the first place even for its intended and legal purpose of basic cable tuning. It is clear that Joe ripped him off.
The box was sold with a guarantee, Dale didn't do anything that would void the guarantee. During the guarantee period, Dale was not satisfied with the unit's performance, so he wanted to return it and get his money back. Joe, while admitting the box was faulty, stonewalled him.
The red flags were there alright, a name like "cablejokers" and no payment by credit card, COD please so there's no way you can get you money back unless we want to give it to you. I bet that NONE of these boxes work, Joe just tries to intimidate the customer by accusing him of wanting to steal cable and hopes he'll go away.
For the best picture on basic cable, the tuner built into the TV should work fine, unless of course it is a HD monitor type unit with no tuner. Then you can buy an external tuner of whatever quality/price you're willing to pay; these will also receive network TV over the air in HD. That looks quite impressive, though it's still network TV. Also you have to have an antenna and be close enough to the TV station. For a lower-budget approach, use a decent quality cable-ready VCR as the tuner.

#1 Quick answer, why I would say "Even if I had asked about receiving the HBO and other premium channels without paying for them, why would that void the guarantee?" I believe that this is a major part of his scam to intimidate people and make them fearful of a lawsuit against them for making a statement such as this.
He is not the authority. He can report you to the authority for breaking the law as anyone can. He cannot legally misrepresent a product and void his own warranty over something that you said. I f you actually installed a descrambling video board into the box and used it to steal cable channels; you would have broken the law, and voided your warranty. I did not order, or install a descrambling video board into the box, and have not voided my warranty. I make the statement because I would like for more victims of this scam to report it, and take a stand against these unethical business practices.
If enough reports are filed, a lawyer might take up the case in a class action lawsuit against cablejokers.com. I personally am seeking legal council on my own behalf, but would like to see other victims stand up for their rights also. Cablejokers.com has been in court before for having an unsatisfactory record with the BBB. On October 16, 2003, (name removed to protect the guilty) dba www.cablejokers.com, pled guilty to false advertising, in violation of Business and Professions Code 17500. The defendant is ordered to serve 3 years probation, stay out of the cablebox business, disable the web site, and refrain from any misleading advertising.
In addition, the defendant must pay $ 1249 in fines and restitution. You can view this information at the following url: (( link removed by ROR))
If the website had been disabled as ordered by the court, our transaction would have never taken place. I have stopped calling this joker, and everything he stated in his last rebuttal is again a slanderous lie. I have never made any threats whatsoever, and have not been the one doing the name-calling other than calling him a cheat, a liar, a scammer, and a con. I don't consider this to be name-calling as from personal experience it is an accurate representation of his character.
Again, I have not spoken with anyone other than Joe the thieving little liar. #2 He does not sell a legitimate cable box so that someone could own his or her own equipment. What he sells is a $20 piece of garbage in an attractive box that's only functional purpose would be as a paperweight or a boat anchor. Even the very few channels that do come in with this box have a pitiful looking grainy picture. I did not enter into a contract to purchase a paperweight or a boat anchor, and would like to have a refund from this misrepresented product.
#3 He portrays himself here as the victim and an honest company that would have nothing to do with stealing cable. But his website has posted information on how you can supposedly steal cable, and when I received the box in the mail, there was a note inside the box explaining to me how to use it illegally.
#4 I am not the one with the changing story. Every time this joker posts on here he has a different slanderous story about me. Again, I don't believe that he has our conversations recorded because if he did he ought to have the common sense to listen to them and quote me verbatim and not continue to slander me in this manner.
#5. Since I have stopped calling this little scam artist he is now using this forum to try to inflame and provoke me, as he wasn't successful accomplishing that task on the phone. I don't believe this is a very intelligent person that I'm dealing with, as he continues to slander me in this public forum. As for loving this country sir, I have a deep love for my country as have served 20 years honorably in the U.S. Navy. I am now retired and do have considerable time to call you on all of your lies. It sickens me that I have fellow countrymen who would behave in a manner such as you.
Thank you to ripoffreport.com once again for your valuable service in exposing these types of unethical business practices.

Quick question, why would he say, "Even if I had asked about receiving the HBO and other premium channels without paying for them, why would that void the guarantee?" unless he had indeed done exactly as we said which is request us to help him use the product he bought from us to illegally receive premium channels he was not, is not, and has no intention of paying. Mr. people are not stupid and can see through blatant lies. The policies on the site are crystal clear and if a customer is not following local, state, or federal laws then we cannot have anything to do with them.
I sincerely hope that when this matter is taken to a third, neutral party that justice will prevail, your own recorded words will be your downfall sir, you can't deny 100% crystal clear proof, which we have and you know it. Unfortunately we have dealt with these kind of people and behavior before and are fully prepared to handle the matter accordingly. Obviously this is a pointless point to argue as this person is willing to do or say anything to mislead people and make us out to be something we are not, but luckily we have proof and the truth on our side.
We sell a legitimate cable box so that someone could own their own equipment, NOT TO STEAL CABLE and defraud their cable provider as Mr. has repeatedly attempted to do. If that was the intended use of the box, their would be an illegal video board in the unit, which as posted on the site in accordance with U.S. laws, we do not and are not affiliated with anyone who does whatsoever.
The cable box we sell is a descrambler for the analog channels that a customer is subscribed to, but not to descramble premium subscription channels without paying for them, that is simply illegal and not what the unit is advertised to do. Mr. Dale DID ask why he couldn't get HBO, Cinemax, PPV, or Showtime originally and after being told that was contrary to our policy, the story has changed at least four times. Once we told him that it was obviously not legal to receive those without paying he became the irrate person you can see above. Had Mr. actually illegally received pay channels and if we had found out we would have reported him to his cable provider immediately as legally required.
I don't want to get into a religous debate with this person or judge him because only Jesus is the true judge and I'm positive his actions will have consequences. And this is 2007, so luckily we don't have to put up with it for much more as this is now a legal matter being handled accordingly. This guy needs help and I hope he gets it soon for society's sake.

I would like to add just a little more information on this joker (cablejokers.com). I do not believe that he has my telephone conversations recorded. #1 if he does have them recorded and he is sane, he would listen to the recorded conversations and quote me verbatim and not slander me like he has. At the time of our very first telephone conversation, I was under the assumption that I was dealing with a legitimate company (not a scam artist). I did not start out our conversation saying that this piece of **** doesn't work as I don't deal with other human beings in this manner. I explained the problem I was experiencing, and he was the condescending (fill in blank here). #2 If he was recording our conversations it was without my consent which is illegal in the State of California. California law does not allow tape recording of telephone calls unless all parties to the conversation consent (California Penal Code 632), or they are notified of the recording by a distinct "beep tone" warning (CPUC General Order 107-B(II)(A)(5)).
The FCC requires that notice of any recording of a telephone conversation must be given to the other parties of the conversation (47 CFR 64.501; 2 FCC Record 502). This notice may be conveyed by consent of all parties, verbal notice of recording at the beginning of the call, or use of a periodic beep tone. Telephone companies are required to discontinue telephone service to any customer who violates these rules. (CPUC General Order 107-B(II)(B)(3)

This is without question a scam. I cannot believe this guy. Lies, lies, lies. I did not tell him I was trying to get channels I was not paying for. In our very first conversation I told him the channels I was not getting, and they were channels that I am paying for (CBS, FX, CARTOON NETWORK, and many others), I told him the picture was too dark to see, but the sound was fine. Our first conversation went the way I said it did in my original report. However if you look at his website he advertises this box as a descrambler (which it is not, it is a converter).
At the bottom of the website it plainly states IF YOU WISH TO DESCRAMBLE SCRAMBLED CHANNELS WITH THESE UNITS, YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO THE UNIT. AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARDS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE. WE DO NOT STOCK THEM OR SELL THEM SEPERATELY. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE AN AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD, PLEASE TRY SEARCHING YAHOO OR EBAY. OUR WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE INSTALLATION OF THE AVENGER MX VIDEO BOARD INTO OUR UNITS AND/OR THE ATTEMPTED OPERATION OF OUR UNITS WITH AN AVENGER MX BOARD INSTALLED.
Even if I had asked about getting pay channels I don't understand how that would make him not liable to honor his risk free trial. Installing one of those boards after you had a converter box that actually worked is what would void his warranty. I never purchased or installed this board. I ordered the box because on his website (cablejokers.com) he claims to have the most expensive video board in this box and I thought I would get a better picture on my HDTV than what my current cable box is giving me. I did not get a viewable picture at all on 35 of 50 channels that I am paying for. Furthermore, I have never made any threats to him, other than to continue calling him until he honors his no risk warranty that I was promised, and I will continue that is not a threat it is a promise. I have told him I would rather that his telephone company gets the money that he stole from me rather than him retaining it.
Every time I call I ask him to honor his word, but he is unwilling to do it. I have never spoken with anyone other than this Joe character, so anything he claims I said to other employees is a slanderous lie. I honestly don't believe that there is anyone else. He has told me that his manager is listening to our conversation and I asked the manager to speak to me, but I have heard from no one else but Joe (if that is even his real name. I doubt it). He has told me at other times that he is the manager. I have never called him any racial slur, and quite frankly don't care what his race is.
Again I just want him to honor his warranty. This little thief (I will not call him a man because he is not one) has the audacity to accuse me of slander when his entire rebuttal is nothing but slander against me. I have talked to him about 10 15 times nowhere near 500 (I did initially leave numerous messages to which he did not respond). He will eventually have more than 500 calls from me though, as I refuse to give up, and let him keep the money he stole from me. As for my wife, she got on the phone at his request when he was laughing at me and trying to provoke me. She told him God is going to get you for this. To which he replied, God is my best friend. He successfully provoked my wife and got her very upset by saying our children are retarded.
I don't recall everything that she said to him on the phone and it is irrelevant anyway, as this business transaction was between myself and CABLEJOKERS.COM, not her and Joe the little scammer that tells lies. He portrays himself in his rebuttal to be this honest Christian that's praying for me. He told me on the phone he hopes I go to hell. I told Joe that I don't hope he goes to hell, and that I would love to see him turn from his thieving ways and repent. I would love to see him find salvation for real and not just make an empty profession of faith. I agree that this is not funny, and have not been the one laughing on the phone.
I just persistently ask him to return the money that he stole from me. CABLEJOKERS.COM does not offer a legitimate service, and does not back up all policies, as they are not returning my money. If you order from them it is definitely not risk free. You will be the victim of their scam. I don't doubt for a moment that the conversations he claims to have had with me took place. They just weren't conversations with me; they were with other victims of this scam. I have an appointment with my lawyer this Friday and if we can find out who this con artist really is I we will seek prosecution. I will keep your site posted.

Mr. Dale purchased a raw, unmodified cable box from our site about a month ago. He has done nothing but call and harrass myself and our employees almost daily for weeks, calling non-stop, threatening mine and my co-workers lives, and calling us every outdated racist slur he could come up with.
All of this started once the customer, Mr. Dale, received his merchandise that was pretested and in perfect working order prior to shipment. We have this and many other phone calls recorded. First thing he said was, "This piece of **** doesn't work, I can't get any of my Pay Per View Channels or HBO or Cinemax." Our response was, "Are you paying for those channels?" He said, "Of course not, why else why I have paid over $200 for this thing." So we told him the box was not intended for him to illegally steal cable from his company and that I would have to report his comments to the appropriate authorities at which time he litterally went ballistic. Started saying I knew this was a ripoff and your company's a sham so we told him his account was closed as he had voided our policy reguarding the legal and appropriate use of our merchandise and hung up.
This guy is probably clinically insane, the man has called our 800 number close to 500 times over the last 20 days, all day every day. He's attempted to change his story and say he doesn't get any channels or he only gets a couple or now 15 from what he wrote in this "report". His wife felt it necessary to get on the phone and say, "You aren't Christians and you're going to hell for this." They both like to call and say horrible things and laugh like it's funny, but it most certainly is not.
Bottom line is simple, these are LEGAL cable boxes and are not intended to steal Pay Per View or any subscription channels without paying for them, that is illegal. We offer a legitimate service and do back up all policies. It is unfortunate that individuals such as Mr. Dale feel it necessary to blame us when he clearly intended to defraud his cable provider and abuse our product and now try to act innocent. We did report this to our lawyer who is taking the appropriate steps including harrassment charges. I feel sorry for people like this man and he is in our prayers but at no time have we not acted appropriately. We cannot help anyone steal cable and would not advocate that illegal activity or be apart of it. I'm sure justice will prevail in that we do have faith. Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.
