I have been a Sears Credit Card member for over ten years.  They had never increased my credit line.  I inquired customer service.  I asked if they could do a credit line increase with only a soft credit pull instead of a hard pull.  The lady promised me that the increase could be completed with only a soft credit pull.  They did not soft pull my credit.  Instead they did 5 hard credit pulls.  I have been striving for ten months to get them removed from my credit report.  With my excellent credit I could've obtained five credit cards with the same impact on my score as this miminal credit line increase.  I have spoken to customer service about this issue five times.  Three times they promised they would removed the inquiries from my credit report.  Nothing has been done.  The last two times I spoke with them they told me that this was out of their reach.  They referred me to file a dispute directly with the credit bueau.  I have also been unsuccessful to get all those inquiries removed.  I would not recommend anyone to ask for a credit limit increase with this company.  They lie to you and this lie will impact your credit score by at least 15 points.  Plus it doesnt look good on your credit report.
