I had called Sears regarding a problem that I was having. I was put in touch with the acting store manager that day. He told me his name was "TJ". I wanted to find out what was happening to the "rebate" that I was told I was getting from "travis" who works at the store. I tried to explain to "TJ" that I had spoke to the corporate office of sears and they told me that sears does not give rebates and that I needed to speak to the store manager to get a refund. But "TJ" said that I was harassing him since I would not take his word for it and that I should stop asking for something in writing. He then told me what the NJ statute for harassment was and that he knows what harassment is since he was also a police officer. I asked him that if in fact he was a police officer, what it had to do with my problem and that I felt he was trying to intimidate me by telling me that. He then told me that since I would not take his instructions that he was ripping up my information and then hung up on me. I have tried in vain to get "TJ"'s real name but was told by sears that "TJ" has chosen not allow them to give me his real name.
