Select Student Loans is a private documentation preparation company. They offer several different repayment programs including loan consolidation, public service forgiveness, and income-based repayment. Richard Brea stated the following in regards to his company, "we help students, graduates, or any individual dealing with debt."
Leads for Select Student Loans are acquired through television, radio, and internet. A potential client can inquire about their services through their website or calling in to their customer service team. From there, "they transfer the call over to a senior representative for quality assurance, and the processing staff prepares documents and sends them to the client."
CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION FROM SELECTSLHELP
During the onsite interview, Mr. Brea was asked to describe some of the common complaints that they receive. Mr. Brea explained that their most common complaints come from client who believe that the process of their services are not fast enough. In order to combat this, "we've implemented daily follow up calls...and we've increased our processing and customer service staff to handle the high volume of calls we receive." Select Student Loans are willing to go above and beyond for their clients including offering a full refund if requested.
When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Brea stated, "most of the reports posted are by competitors and ex-employees." In addition to Select Student Loans being active members of the Association For Student Loan Relief, Mr. Brea offered the following rebuttal, "we have a very customer and employee centered philosophy, and we treat everyone with respect and dignity."

Beware of this company as it is another example of how private industry is allowed to prey on the vulnerable in this country. In this instance it's student loan holders. You do not have to pay exorbitant $300-600 fees to get your loans consolidated or to qualify for loan forgiveness or an income-driven repayment plan.
Furthermore to jobseekers in the Los Angeles area when you get an e-mail from selectslhelp asking that you go to 3530 Wilshire Blvd. #690, Los Angeles, CA 90010 for an interview, here is what you should expect. You'll be asked to arrive at 10:00 am. Do not show up more than five minutes late or without your resume, because the receptionist will ask you to come back tomorrow, if at all. It is a small office space with 25 or so cubicles and people talking to prospective clients about having their loans consolidated. Expect about 20-30 other jobseekers to be there and you'll be made to stand outside in the hallway until the others before you are interviewed. The interview will probably occur with Eric who'll ask a few basic questions, have you read a paragraph long script that has you selling a scam loan consolidation to a prospect. He'll let you know if you got the job later on the same day. If you did he'll want you to start the next day and your pay will be $9 an hour but you get the chance bump into the "second" ($11 an hour) or "third" ($13) tier based on your performance. Caveat emptor people.
