In this rebuttal, I will take each point that the poster originally made against our company and explain what actually happens throughout our interview process. This way, people can make an educated decision about their own careers.
As far as the first interview goes, it is exactly that: a first interview. No matter what company you are going to interview with, if it has more than one interview in their process, the first one will be quick, mainly a fact finding mission on the part of the employer. Basically to get a first impression of the person looking for a job. A lot of weeding out is done here in this interview - if we feel the person has a positive attitude and isn't a complete boor, then we invite them back for a second interview.
The second interview is exactly as she said, in that it is a group setting. In this meeting, we outline everything about our business and we hold no punches. We tell everyone up front that during training, the pay is meager. That the pay is INCENTIVE based - meaning sales and commisions. We also invite anyone that feels they don't like that idea to feel free to leave at this point. As far as the "mostly other young women" comment goes, we can't control who answers the ads that we have out there or the people that call in looking for work. If it happens that everyone that comes in for the second interview is female, or men for that matter, so be it.
Do we really set you up with an office at the end of the training program? Yes. I went throught the program myself and now help run the center in Middleburg Heights. We just promoted out an office into Parma Heights, are finalizing a builing in Pittsburgh for another promotion as well. We have other offices being opened in Providence, RI, Indianapolis, IN and Virginia Beach.
As for asking questions during the second interview, we already have to go through about four hours worth of information in the span of two. By asking you to wait til the end to ask, we assume that most of the questions you'll have will be answered throughout the process. If not, then we are more than happy to answer anything else you have for us on an individual basis so as not to take up everyone else's time as well, considering that they've already been sitting for 2+ hours taking notes.
It is not always the case that everyone in the second interview is offered a position, in fact that is RARELY what happens. But if everyone there is considered to have a strong positive attitude and thinks that this might be for them, then yes we will give them a chance to navigate the program. This isn't for everyone, but we don't know who that might be until given the chance.
I am only telling you this next part based on the way I'd feel if asked whether or not you'd be getting paid for the Mon./Tues. orientation and class. If you had just been told that your pay during the training program was based on commissions (sales), isn't it a reasonable assumption that if you don't sell anything, you don't get paid? The way that he probably meant about you being able to make money on those days WAS to sell to your friends and family if you wanted. It would have been completely optional, and you only would have had to do it if you wanted to make some easy money.
When you open up your own branch, you are the boss and are running your own independant LLC, meaning you get to name it. Sentre Management is the name of the branches in Worthington and Middleburg.
If anyone has any questions on the company and the opportunity that we are offering to people that want to run their own business, please call us and ask. Don't take this person's word for it, because remember the fact that she never even worked for the company. I've been here six months now and have nothing but good things to say about Sentre and have seen people promoted and running their own deals. Work hard, stay positive and remember why you're here (to run your own branch), and the training program goes by in the blink of an eye.
