shade one awings / donald franks sunsetter contractor,lol took 50% deposit of 1377.00 and never started the job or return our phone calls and refuse to reinburse my deposit. freehold , New Jersey
hired donald franks to install sunsetter awning. the awning cost of $2700.00 installed.
gave a deposit of $1377.00. i called him several times he said it was ordered. 3 weeks later i called him several times and wrote him letter and so did my wife he never answered the calls. i went to his place of bussniess and it was an apartment complex. i rang the door bell and there was no answer. i left a note on the door to contact me about a refund. he called me and threatend me about me leaving a note and ringing the bell of his apartment. said to me he would send the refund and i have not yet recieved my refund. this was started april 4, 2010 and as of this report may 30, 2010

I am the owner of this company. It hurts to read this report after being in business for 10 years and having no such negative reviews anywhere else.
I sold a retractable awning to this man, Andrew Gervasi from Monroe Twp. Mr. and Mrs. Gervasi are disabled and living in a trailer park. After some debate whether or not the framing in the trailer home was substantial enough to hold the awning, I decided to cancel the order to be safe. He received a full refund, in a timely manner, in the form of a cashiers check sent from my bank.
Mr. Gervasi stated he had been ripped off by contractors before and became very aggressive before recieving his check. He left threatening messages on my phone and notes at my door while I was at work. Admittedly, I stopped taking his calls knowing his check was on the way and the matter would soon be closed. That may have made matters worse as he threatened to shoot me and I was forced to file a police report.
Andy, I am sensitive to your family's situation and I would never try to rip off you or anyone else. You would need reinforcement to your trailer home wall to hold a retractable awning. I tried to call you a few times to have this removed. Do the right thing and take the time to remove this complaint.
