I recently update my cell phone and was looking to sell my old Apple iPhone 5s 32g in gold from att even though the screen was cracked I knew it still had value! I had several people approach me about purchasing it for around $50 but did some research online and found smartphone traders and they offered me $160 with the cracked screen. After seeing this I thought this was the best I'm going to get and promptly sent my phone in. After 3 weeks I get an email saying their experts inspected it and they will only give me $12! Excuse me $12 my time and hassle sending it is more than $12 I would rather let my 3 year old nephew play with it than get $12. I have emailed them back as their hours for phone calls are ridiculous 10-3 mon through thurs mountain time saying keep your $12 and I want my phone back! I am waiting for their response. I advise everyone stay away from this scam artist

I thought I was going to get $143 for my computer so I sent it to sell phone traders it took them forever to receive my box and then when they got it it took them 2 to 3 days to inspect and then they said they was only going to get me $22 I called them and told them to ship my computer back and they kept on going on and on see if they get me a better deal and of course they didn't it took me forever to get through to them that I wanted my computer back they are finally going to ship it back

I just tried to sell my Verizon 16gb iPhone 5s. Smartphone traders quoted me at $203 and then sent me an email that they were paying me $14 as agreed upon in the terms and conditions. Unfortunately for them, I actually read the terms and conditions. It clearly states that you have 5 days to accept or reject their counteroffer. So if anyone reading this is still in that 5 day frame, follow closely. Don't even bother emailing them because they'll claim they never got your email. I emailed them back less than an hour after they sent my new quote. I got no response and was not going to accept $14 for my phone so I called them instead.
These people are scammers, they rely strictly on the fine print. They acted as if there was nothing I could do about it now that they had my phone. That was, until I mentioned that I read their terms of agreement and technically still had 4 days to reject their offer. At first the woman was like "oh wow, let's see why the significant difference in quotes" which makes me laugh now that I'm seeing everyone gets the same low ball offer. She tried to tell me that my vibrating switch wasn't working and that's why the counteroffer was so low.
I call bs because I only keep my phones on vibrate and the only reason I stopped using that phone is because I upgraded to the 6plus. Anyway, they'll try to explain why your phone is worth pennies. Insist on them shipping it back. Next, they'll "do you a favor" and pull up competitors prices. Apparently their prices was $15-$60. (So why were you offering me a dollar less?) At this point, I didn't want their money simply because I didn't like the way they ran their business. The woman offered me $70 and I rejected that offer too. I told her that the phone was more valuable to me as a backup than then pennies they were offering it for.
Honestly, I would have taken the $70 for the phone but like I said, I don't like the way they run their business so I'm going to sell it elsewhere. The end result was I got them to agree to send the phone back (it's going to take 3 weeks though). When I checked my email, they sent a confirmation that they were returning my phone but has a limited time offer to still sell it for their best and final offer which was $70. No thank you. Point is, CALL WITHIN 5 DAYS!!! You can either get your phone back or get a significantly higher price. Good luck!

Actual before you ASSUME I don't know what one speaking about I worked for att and apple before and before I even sent my phone in my best friend who works on iPhones and works for Apple as a technician checked it out and the digitizer was still good and the only damage was the screen no other scratches or dents so I think I know what I'm talking about like I said they should not quite a price and then offer a price that is 7.5% of the original quote I was not counting on the money for anything I just want my device back and I will use it for other things it is a gross injustice that the price is so different

The real problem is that each scratch or ding devalues your trade in. So while you THINK its value should be one price its actual value is entirly different. Its NOT a scam, its YOUR ASSUMPTION! You have ASSUMED its value is the original quote, while reality and the information originaly..presented to you upon agreeing to sell it says otherwise. The quote you recieved was for your model phone with a brokem screen that was in PERFECT condition. Then they would pay the original quote. But ANY instaces of wear and tear or use takes away from the original quote. Its really kind of funny that you would assume that ANYONE would buy a smartphone at that price sight unseen. Did you think they werent going to check it out from top to bottom? That they dont have technicians trained on what to look for with actual units to compair with? What you consider good working order or excellent condition is what has caused this issue. Not that you have been scammed. Did you ever stop to consider that when you broke the screen you had actually caused more damage inside? That a broken screen means your LCD or LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY or Digitizer was also bad. Note the word liquid? Just pointing out where ASSUMPTION has caused you this stress. See you are just mad that you were counting on that original quote money for some important to you reason. At no point did you let reason, logic,or common sense enter your mind. Did you even read what you were agreeing to? No, you ASSUMED that what you consider excellent condition or whatever was the same as what they call the condition. Open the link they gave you and read it FULLY! If you didnt read it fully then you CANNOT cry scam. You are the ignorant party by not reading it. They explain everything to you in the terms of service. How the condition of the phone once its recieved will change the amount you will get paid. How do I know this? Its simple.......I Read!!!! I have done as you have and used a online phone exchange. I stopped before hitting that "I Agree" button. I read the terms of the offer. I then did the next logical step and questioned what is the industry standard on condition. By doing that i was able to give correct answers to their questionair and get paid what i was quoted. What you should really be posting about is the FACT that you purposfully misrepresented its condition of the phone to get the best possible price. You are trying to SCAM them into paying you more then its actually worth. You even tell us its ACTAL condition by suggesting a small child would benefit from it. So right there you have shown the entire web with your post that you are a liar and a thief. So PLEASE tell us all again HOW them NOT letting you SCAM them is a scam. How you can sit there and call them scammers when you were lying in the first place? I advise that no one deal withYOU! By your own admission a liar and a scammer. You have then defamed them on a media outlet. You have done this with malice and forethought. So if this company chose to they could not only attempt to file a lawsuit against you locally for what you have posted, but that they can then get you again for the attempt FRAUD! Their the scammers? Sorry NOT seeing them as the scammer. Just you.
