I recieved a phone call this morning at work. the number kept appearing on the caller id 941-961-8518.. they must have called 5 times back to back when I thought it had to be one of my customers and very important. when i picked up there was this man with a very thick accent and a lot f background noise. He started reading off my ssn when i realized this was a personal call. I asked to call him back and disconnected. when i tried to call that number back i got a verison wireless message that the number was inactive. he of course call back 5 mins later and I got the number above to callback 818-338-5046 this time i talked to ryan suppose to be the 1st guys manager. He started talking about a payday loan that i was never paid back when i told him i have never taken a payday loan and that the checking account number he was reading off to me was not open during the time he said the loan was taken out he started to threaten me with being arrested the following day for internet and check fraud. and stated i would be required to appear in court the following day. I told that the state law requires you to serve a summon for court 10 days prior to the court date he hung up on me. I am terrified he had my ssn, my checking account number, my address for home and work. I immediately contact my bank to block my account and now i think i need to file for identity theif.

My fiance is having the same problem. He had someone call him earlier today and say that he filed for a loan and never paid back on it. After calling around for a while he found out that they only loan he has is a student loan, and he doesn't even have to start paying on it for another month!!! He said that the guy who called sounded Indian and had a think accent. When he confronted him the guy said that he was going to file fruad against my boyfriend. So he went down to the police station to file a report. The guy had his ssn too, his e-mail address, address, bank account info, and everything. He also said that he would be going to jail and taken to court if he didn't fax over $1000 dollars to the number he gave my boyfriend. If anyone gets a call like that go to the police and file a fraud report.

If they call back let them know and hang up! ABC news did a piece on this scam - these scum bags hacked into payday websites and stole information You cannot be arrested for a debt PERIOD - do not worry - the only thing you can be arrested for is a bad check depending on your State limitations
