This company promised four (4) $10 gas rebates for sitting through a time-share shales pitch. Getting the rebates has been aggravating.

I have sent in three rebate coupons since Febuary, but received only one rebate check as of July 21, 2008. The first check arrived 9 weeks after mailing in the coupon and gas receipt. The other two are still in transit. Apparently.

This company's tactic is to ignore you until you call (it's not a toll-free call), so you pay long-distance charges), then promise to send a check right away.

I didn't even bother to mail in the last coupon, knowing it might be winter before I get a rebate check.

To anybody else dealing with this outfit, I suggest to calling after the first 2 weeks, by which time they will have received the coupon and gas receipt and can start processing the check, rather than wait 8 weeks later and have them feign surprise that you have not received a check.

Remember, persistence counts!

This is the second time I have had the same experience with Spirit. A few years ago as an incentive to visit a vacation condo we were given a free gas coupon. I only received 1 $10 check and gave up after submitting 2 or 3. In the spring of 2008 we again were talked into visiting a timeshare resort and received the same free gas certificate. This time I've kept photo copies of the coupons and gas receipts. I've submitted 2 so far and have not received anything. Today I looked up their phone number and after a few calls I was able to speak to a customer services representitive. Once I gave him my voucher number and I told him I had photo copies of all documents, he immediately found that I had in fact submitted two receipts for payment. He made a rather vague comment about the date was entered incorrectly and he would fix them and process for payment. I was told that it could take up to 6 week. I will take the advice of other Spirit Incentive scam victums and follow up in a couple of weeks.
