Spooky Empire Canceled Their Convention Oct. 7th - 9th But Kept Pre-Sale Ticket Money and Refuse Refunds Pembroke Pines Florida
My husband and I purchased tickets from them for a convention they were holding at the Orlando Convention Center October 7th - 9th. On October 6th they sent out an email explaining they were cancelling the event due to weather and would be working on getting people their money back. On October 10th I contacted them and after several days received a response that I could use my tickets for another event. I explained that would not work for me as I used my vacation time from work for the dates I purchased tickets for, and was also out additional expenses (travel, lodging, etc.) and would be unable to go. Per our contract (my ticket purchase) I purchased tickets for an event October 7th-9th 2016, not December 2016 or April 2017 and would like to be refunded as the event was canceled by the organizers.
If you look at their social media sites (i.e. Facebook page) you will find hundreds of other people in the same situation. As a collective group we are out thousands, and Petey & Gina Mongelli got to keep our money and were offered a refund from the convetion center - they were made better than they started.
